TonyeBarcanista:You thinking there's any such thing is hilarious. Don't Tinubu supporters love to say that Nigerian elections aren't won on social media? Why, then, are you attributing the boasts of a loud minority of Peter Obi fans online to all of his supporters? Many of those who would vote for Peter Obi in a heartbeat if the next presidential elections were held today are not keyboard warriors or are not online at all. They are everyday Nigerians—the sort you walk past on the street without batting an eye. And those people, having lived in Nigeria for many years and knowing how politics work in the country, don't believe free and fair elections can ever happen in Nigeria. Everyone knows that if elections were free and fair in Nigeria, several presidential elections, especially the past 2, would have had different victors. |

AMINDA:Now in furtherance; you see why the APC(BAT) had to take over the entire NC & SS---there no way PO can repeat 2023 numbers its mathematically impossible. |

Lanruze:Wetin concern politics with morality? Or are you more moral than the republicans that voted trump? |
| Re: 2027: Obidients And The Illusion Of Political Dominance by AMINDA: 5:36am On Jan 31 |
lionshare:Exactly. Tinubu is trying to make up for lost Northern votes in the SS and NC while Atiku has gained those Northern votes potentially lost by Tinubu to add to his 2023 tally. The only candidate that hasn't realistically gained new in-roads is Peter Obi but he's doing the right thing by aligning with the ADC. So-called Obidients chanting Obi or nothing are only sabotaging his campaign. Most of them are closet Agbadorians anyway. To be fair to him, Obi has come out to denounce them. Atiku needs Obi to get the required constitutional spread, but he has the numbers already. None of them can win without the other, but it's a good thing that they are currently in the same party. What Obi stands to gain? A chance to endear himself to the North and get the same level of support Northerners gave to Tinubu after supporting Buhari against Jonathan. Northerners ALWAYS pay their debts in multiple folds, whether good or bad. |

ElevationD:The real test of intelligence is results, not rhetoric or social media hype. So far, APC has tangible results, and all things being equal, 2027 should be a walk in the park. Personally, I want Obi on the ballot again—to truly test his popularity and put to rest the idea that 2023 was driven mainly by the Muslim-Muslim ticket and reactions to Buhari’s incompetence and nonchalance toward governance. Even hardcore Obidients should admit that Tinubu has been far more responsive as president than Buhari. He is also clearly not a religious fanatic; in fact, it appears Christians are getting some of the most significant appointments and opportunities in his government, which effectively eliminates the notion of a religious agenda. Therefore, ADC should present Peter Obi in 2027 so we can properly validate the 2023 data points against the 2027 outcome. |

AMINDA:You should know I’m pro-BAT, but the truth is he hasn’t lost any ground in the North. Much of the media noise is just rhetoric. What he’s doing instead is carefully calibrated, polarising politics—likely aimed at securing a landslide. In the South, the narrative is that the North is against him, while in the North, he’s clearly the candidate to beat. Otherwise, how do you explain that no one else is making real in-roads but him? All the KKK states are effectively in his bag—Jigawa, Borno, Sokoto—except Bauchi. Even in states not fully in his column, he still has a significant presence that should comfortably deliver more than 25%. If you simulate the numbers and conservatively assign, say, 50% of votes cast in these areas to BAT, by the time the South-West, North-Central, and South-South results come in, it’s clearly a landslide. |

You should understand, obi candidacy is not automatically transferred. I love obi for obi not who he supports. If obi stands for election he gets my vote and not who he endorses. You should know better than this. |

Jonjam269:Per the bolded, I think he also benefited last time out from the facade of him not being part of the political class and a genuine acceptance by people for an (overdue) Igbo president. Thankfully for the latter, Professor Soludo and Bianca Ojukwu are looking like they will be able to correct that "anomaly" and unlike Peter Obi, I am confidently backing them to do so in a competent manner. His Obidients unruly social media behaviour means he (thankfully) peaked in 2023 as you are right, oga really has nothing to offer. Of more concern, but not surprisingly, is his occasional jumping head and feet into sensitive tribal related waters, and example of which was the Lagos trade fair complex debacle. We definitely dodged a bullet in Nigeria. |

| Re: 2027: Obidients And The Illusion Of Political Dominance by doncartel: 6:02pm On Feb 01 |
We Obidients are dominating because we have majority of the genuine votes. Atiku and Tinubu together have about 1 million genuine votes. Obi has over 15 million genuine votes. Don’t forget we are using genuine information. |
| Re: 2027: Obidients And The Illusion Of Political Dominance by Amumaigwe: 6:44pm On Feb 01 |
TonyeBarcanista:This Atiku's wannabe hatchet man, go and rest. Atiku is now both unmmarketable and expired. Obidients' votes are not transferable anyhow. They are for Obi and any other trustworthy candidate. Just because anyone wins nomination in Obi's party, does not automatically make him electable by our standards. |
