But one issue currently stirring serious conversation online is his absence at Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony, despite the fact that Fela’s sound and legacy played a huge role in shaping modern Afrobeats — including Wizkid’s own music.
Over the years, Wizkid has sampled and drawn inspiration from Fela’s works, helping him create some life-changing, global hits. For many Nigerians, Fela isn’t just a musician — he’s a cultural movement, a revolutionary voice, and a foundation of African music as we know it today. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
This is why many fans feel Wizkid should have shown up to pay his respects, even if briefly. To them, attending such an event isn’t about clout, but honouring the shoulders you stood on.

You expected him to show up after getting into a feud that made him tell Seun he was greater than his father?

Fan’s fume could be as a result of the scuffle between Wizkid and Seun Kuti. He could probably be busy with other stuffs, it’s also possible he has an emergency to attend to, it’s also possible he did not attend intentionally.

Truth is, celebrities got their own life too outside the camera, that not many can know what they are going through.

If the scuffle between Seun Kuti and Wizkid was what brought about the controversy, then everybody should relax, because a time will also come, when a new star will rise and not really regard Wizkid’s influence in the industry. What goes around always have it’s own way of coming around. so when I see matters like this, I don’t stress, knowing fully well that the cane that was used for the old wife is hanging somewhere for the new wife too.
