Wouldn't true federalism be a good thing for the country as a whole?

What could be some disadvantages to this system if we tried to implement it ?

Some regions are parasitic, true federalism and resource control will make them bambiala, most especially the northern regions. Through federalism might make the country's breakup quicker than expected.

The politicians don't also want that. They are comfortable with the heist system of government they call democracy.

No region is parasitic in Nigeria. True federalism will compel all state governors to look inwards and start harnessing resources in their domains. Yes, some states will be far richer than others, but it will encourage competition across the country and only bring serious people in government.

Only Tinubu can tell us why he hasn't made moves to implement true federalism that he spent several years promoting. Perhaps he's already seeing that true federalism will compel the SS governors to revive the Eastern ports and reduce vessel traffic to those they are building everywhere in Lagos.

Parasitic because they are lazy...

Federalism doesn't encourage laziness. It's not that they are no resources in the north or anywhere in Nigeria for that matter that they can't rely on.

The land is blessed... people are just too lazy to capitalize the potential!
