mrkings84:Is that the best way to drink water in this 21st century? Have you thought of the environmental impact of your choice ![]() Will your future generations also drink pure water? What do you have local, state and federal government officials for, and why do you pay them so much money in taxes, fees, levies etc, when they are not employing workers to make ordinary water available for everyone ![]() fuckJones: |

Ablesam171:Nigerians are very poor in comprehension. The statistics says clean drinking water. That means from various sources such as boreholes, bottle water, pure water etc. I hope you understand why Lagos will be no1 |

| Re: States With The Highest Access To Clean Drinking Water In Nigeria by PulaPower: 6:40am On Feb 01 |
anonimi:Yes, it has always been like that.. I don’t know if this will make sense to you or not, but me personally, I always feel they’re lucky with water cuz of their water goddess. You know it’s a state that worships water, the popular Osun/osogbo festival, hence why they have water blessings… Just my personal thinking tho.. Their water is so clean and pure.. |

SmartPolician:That's how myopic you are and shallow minded. Some of you have never smelt Lagos before, all you know about Lagos is what you see online. And what you see online is majorly Lekki Ajah, and you use that city turn slum by the visitors to judge the entirety of Lagos. I am a Lagosian, from the Southwestern part of the State. I have lived in the Northeast part of Lagos; I also used to visit my in-laws in the North part of Lagos. I am sure this information is alien to you. That said, where i come from (southwest of Lagos), all i need to do to get access to clean water is dig 2-3 meters, boom, i have access to drinking water. In fact, in the core western part of my LGA, in my village, we only need to dig about 2-3 feet and the water is as clean and pure as anything. The sand there is pure white sand, and you can even lay on it without getting a stain. The sand is similar to the beach sand, but it is pure white and it is clean because that region of Lagos is not overpopulated....and you do not have pollutions from moving cars in close proximity. No, before Lagos became overpopulated, this was synonymous to most part of Lagos, dredging and reclamation done in especially Ajah, Lekki destroyed that area. Most parts of Lagos use to utilize wells of about 4-5m deep for source of water. In those years, 80s to early 90s, wells were padlocked to preserve the cleanness of the water. Lagos is largely below sea level ad has about 75% of water to land ratio, and that is understandable. Though, Ogun State is in close proximity to Lagos, but most part is rocky, clayey, and hilly. As such, people dig over 15m-60m to get water in most part before technology brought the boring machine. The water also largely is sweet and clean -Drinking water from clay soil is considered beneficial for hydration and health. The water is naturally cooled, which can be especially refreshing during hot weather. The minerals present in the clay can enhance the taste and provide various health benefits. Ogun state has one of the highest percentages of households with access to safe drinking water. The state benefitted from the now-completed European Union water projects in Nigeria which constructed boreholes, micro water schemes, and treatment plants in Ogun. The state also has codified standards for water quality monitoring by relevant agencies. About 75% of the population in Ogun now uses improved drinking water sources. I am sure you aren't aware that Lagos water is tested from time to time by the water board. tell which other States in Nigeria has functioning agencies? Water quality is regularly tested by agencies like the Lagos Water Corporation to ensure it meets World Health Organization guidelines for drinking water quality. Over 85% of households in Lagos now have access to potable water. This is according to WHO. River State have improved a lot. Rivers State has abundant water resources from the many rivers, including the state’s namesake. In Port Harcourt, the state capital, and other major cities, tap water is treated at modern water treatment plants and is safe for drinking. The state also has a rural water program working to provide potable water to rural communities. Conclusion Lagos, Rivers, Delta, Ogun, Enugu, and Kaduna states have the highest percentages of people that have access to clean drinking water in Nigeria as of today. The other states covered have also made commendable progress in improving the availability of and access to potable water for their citizens. |

LegendHero:Yes. Im from Ebonyi. Ebonyi has potable drinking water more than Lagos Island and a vast majority of Lagos. Lagos Island water can't even be used to wash a floor messed up with dirt. |

Truth be told Ebonyi state is disgracing not just south East but the entire Southern Nigeria. Always dragging poverty and underdevelopment with core Northern Nigeria. They should sit up and stop this wailing of being discriminated by Anambra people every time LegendHero: |

| Re: States With The Highest Access To Clean Drinking Water In Nigeria by Judemarco31(m): 7:13am On Feb 01 |
This statistics lied, Lagos shouldn't be in this list, Lagos has the most dirtiest and contaminated water in Nigeria, no access to clean water. Some landlords and landladies in Lagos will just dig 5 to 10fts once they get water, they don't care again how clean the water is, all they know is that they have gotten water. Backyard untreated sachet water everywhere. If you are living in Lagos you knows the truth |

| Re: States With The Highest Access To Clean Drinking Water In Nigeria by Ablesam171: 7:37am On Feb 01 |
Lifestone:Funny!!! Go to Ajeromi Ifeludun LGA and tell them they've access to drinking water and see what they'll do to you. Water cooperation was operational in that LGA in the 90s what happened now? Most residents of that area don't have access to drinking water. 25 liters of water goes for ₦300 and you call it access to water? Dey play. |
