Good day my people, we are going to be showing us here, the process of a new home building finish in Enugu state.

This was a building I started here on this forum, this second part is just to document the completion of the project.

We will start by showing us how this building looks as at when we stopped works here.

This area has now changed a lot, with so many new buildings already completed around this street, and this house.

We're here and can supply doors to you at shikini money.

We're not going to waste time on this finish, so let's move to do a bamboo scaffolding on this building in preparation for the plastering process

We have already started doing the scaffolding works for this building yesterday.

Purchase of sharp and soft sand, cement and other building materials is speeding up, more vehicles coming in with more supplies. .................

If only men knew that integrity works. A lot of Nigerians will be living like kings.

The plastering and dressing of the whole parapet fascia in both buildings were completed today ..................

We're having water problems in this site, but will surmount the challenges soon.

Meanwhile work is ongoing.

We have been working on the following items in this building

Kitchen concrete cabinets
Conduit plumbing piping
Electrical conduit piping

All these works are going on inside this house. More updates later.

Pls I have a question. I was discussing with my uncle who happens to be a mason in the village and is helping me to do some job in my house at the village. I was reluctant in going to deep with the job because I was thinking that sometimes in the future, I would bring down the bungalow and replace it with a duplex but he told me there was no need to bring it down completely as it is possible to remove the roof and add a floor on top with pillars for support. I'm not a builder and was a bit skeptical so I decided to reach you. Is this possible? Is it safe? The house is not hollow blocks.

It's safe and possible, many people gave done this with success in the past. What needs to be done is to study the plans when you are ready and get a professional to calculate the load, then introduce pillars where necessary in the bungalow, then do a decking and a top floor.

@spyde880 happy new, even though its possible my concern with this idea in the foundation. When the foundation was done then do they the consider load bearing in mind then? If not, in mine opinion is always better to start at fresh. many thing run thru mine mind including street level of the road in the area

You're right my man. That's why I added there that a professional needs to be consulted before this change will be implemented. A professional will surely look at the foundation, the building height an all other important considerations before changing a house from a bungalow to a duplex.

Good day Spyder, I remembered when you posted these prices then I thought the prices were still affordable by the time my project will get to electrical work, fast forward ⏩ to 2026, I bought a coil of 1.5mm cable for ₦35000, 2.5mm ₦56000, 4mm ₦93000, 10mm ₦233000 lol.
I also remember you screeded one of your project later after tilling( being trying to find the thread), my question is how did you protected the tiles from screeding paint stain and messing it up? Knowing our workmen with their careless and selfish attitude

Cable prices are not smiling at all. If I had kept my stock then and not sold some of them, it will be a huge value added how.
