Banditry has come to stay in Nigeria. Government at all level have no clue on how to deal with this menace that's causing death and destruction in rural agrarian communities in Northern Nigeria. It's easier to deal with Boko Haram than banditry, àt least Boko Haram ìs confined mainly to Borno state and it's easy for the military to bombard them from air and land, but the bandits have more of the ungoverned space to move up and down abducting and killing hapless villagers. The bandits are scattered everywhere in North West and North central of the country.

This thing is getting out of hand honestly. How do bandits freely attack a police station, burn it down, enter a church and still kidnap people without resistance? So what is the hope for ordinary citizens again? If a divisional HQ can be overrun at 4am like this, then the whole area is basically on its own. Government needs to stop issuing press statements and start taking security serious. My heart goes out to the victims and their families. Niger State people don’t deserve this kind of fear every night. 😔
