You are not wrong. They are different types of antivenom for different species of snakes. Antivenom for cobra bite does not work for viper’s bite.

Neurotoxicity Antivenom is for snakes like Cobras, Black Mambas and Coral Snakes.

Hemotoxic Antivenom for snakes like vipers, puff adders and rattle snakes.

Go get updated. There anti snake venoms that are used for multiple poisonous snakes in a specific region. They are capable of neutralising both the neurotoxicity and hemotoxicity of snakes. You don't have to wait until you identify the snake species before using such antidotes

There is this Yoruba concotion called gbomgbonise. It is black in colour. Every family should try get it. It is very powerful if you get the original one. Just a spoonful of it, could have saved her. Bro you are right, as i dey europe like this i cant play with my gbogboluse, I remember that time for naija scorpion bite me for forehead, on top bed, i just kill the scorpion, carry blade mark am well well so blood come out put gbogbonise, leak like tea spoon also and chop onion, i swear i went back to sleep. people just see mark for my forhead the second day. On the second occasion one green snake like this bite my twin bro on the way to farm, we are like 5 0n the narrow path, everybody have passed, but my kenny been the last one , the snake just bite am, he screamed. my big bro rushed to the snake with cutlass but its gone, we call on our uncle (God rest his soul), he came with raw okro and uncooked walnut, my bros have already tied the leg so the poison wont flows up to the Heart, he eat the okro and raw walnut, my late uncle gave him his cap to be vomiting inside, they said his vomiting must not touch ground. I have to walk almost 2 hours with him back home, that time no bike like this. on our way back home all those elderly men we meet will be greeting us, some will split on the leg and be calling incantation, some will told us to go and meet their wife or children w at home to give us the cure on the ceiling. we get back to town, we went to my friend's mother house who is a local healer. she laugh it off it's a small thing she joked, she washed the leg with dry gin, she marked it deep and put something and told us to come back in the evening, we went their she treat it again, the fourth day my twin have started playing football. I have a problem with this our over religion, all this snake bite should have been something we should be locally able to cure like agbo gedi.

But did she live alone or no neighbours ?
They could've taken first aid method by tieing the leg tightly to prevent the venom spreading further before seeking hospitals.
However, the medical field has been bastardised with fake and adultrated drugs such that hospital attendance may carry some risks.

She ran to 2 different hospitals, and there was no anti venom.
The same thing that made Oliver De Coque to die in the Federal medical center Abuja.
There was no oxygen in a federal medical center.
When we say Nigeria is a useless country, people will say we are demarketing Nigeria.

These incidents alone is supposed to make some criminals go to jail.
Every years, millions and billions of naira is allocated to many government hospitals. When people still go to those hospitals, they can only offer little or no service. Most of them don't even have functional ambulances. Most CMDs are hardened criminals worse than Many top politicians. They just steal and embezzle funds.

Walnut — Plukenetia conophora (called awùsá in Yoruba) is believed to be a very effective anti-venom for all kinds of snakebites.

How to use it:

(1) A victim of a snakebite must eat half of one raw (uncooked) walnut seed immediately — within a few seconds of the bite.
It is not easy to eat an uncooked walnut, but the victim must eat it anyway.
It is believed to work by neutralising the venom in the bloodstream and greatly reducing the chances of death.
The victim should thereafter visit a hospital for proper medical follow-up.

(2) To eliminate snakes from your environment:

Grind some quantity of dried walnut into powder and sprinkle it around your premises.
Snakes will never visit your premises again. Even if they do, they will become paralysed and inactive.

(3) Eat a small bite of a raw walnut, and snakes will naturally run away from you.
You can repeat this every six months if you live in a snake-prone, bushy environment.

Cases of snake bites are uncommon and infrequent in Nigeria making it impractical and costly for Hospitals to stock antivenom.
Secondly antivenom differ from snake to snake. There's no one size fits all.
Some snakes venom react within minutes and the victims die almost as fast, while some can take a whole hour to do its job.
Basically if you're bitten by a venomous snake in Nigeria, you stand a better chance using native remedies. Going to a Nigerian hospital for snakebites is the surest way to die cos they'll waste your time, take your money and refer you to GH where you'll perish for lack of antivenom.

A CMD is a senior civil servant.
Those corrupt senior civil servant give returns to the Politician's who appointed them.
The Politician's are in control of the police.
So how do you charge and prosecute them?

I have in the past petitioned corrupt senior civil servant in the Education sector.
Nothing came out of it.
They give returns to the Minister's and Commissioner's.
