I don't follow awards, I don't listen to music that much these days. The last time I really enjoyed Davido's music was during the days of Skelewu, Owo ni koko, fans mi and Carolina, etc those early days.
But I do see Davido once in a while, I see how he relates with people, very nice guy and despite coming from a rich family, he is still down to earth. I like him, he is the kind of friend I can have.
But let him stop wasting his time. He will never win grammy. Real men and women don't win grammy these days.
I saw his post concerning the Indian girl and I did a quick search on Google to see the past winners of grammy awards and I saw two names...
P.diddy
Quincy Jones
There's also
BURNA Boy
Wiz Kid
Sade
Terms, etc

What do these people have in common?

Let's assume David is still a sucker for grammy, well Clearly his songs qualify but his lifestyle doesn't. If you are not going to let your behind get burgled, then atleast change your lifestyle, do away with big chains, be scarce, don't engage or respond to petty beefs, don't go on Lori abi drink Champs. Me and David are in same age bracket, it's time for him to leave childish things for children, don't do clubbing, don't do detty December, do show off cars, we know you are rich , it's time to grow and impact lives. Don't do politics either... atleast not now.

It’s not about the lifestyle.

Nigeria music got only beats but lyrics is still poor. Tyla deserves it honestly this year. Look at last year, tems won due to their rich lyrics and wonderful vocals.

Why do you guys follow celebrities bumper to bumper tho?

Stars like 2pac & Biggie, Busta rhymes, Snoop dogg, NIcki Minaj, ABBA,Brian mcknight (imagine his BACK @ ONE album that the whole tracks were topnotch) never got him a Grammy etc I think Nas just got one recently after years. so as a star dont let the Grammy define you cause once the fans respond to you,that's all you need.i believe there is strong politics in all these awards.back home,you can imagine someone like kizz Daniel is hardly recognized in most awards despite giving back to back hits.I doubt if Davido will ever win cause they will only use his influence to penetrate African market
