Everything is not brute force

Customers won’t even come out to buy anything on Mondays ….

Police protection is not enough to protect both the customers and the sellers… that is the bitter truth
It is not matter of police protection, the people themselves don't want to come out. They are in support of the sit at home, I think that is the bitter truth. Even if u provide all the security, most won't come out. I have observed an average igbo man wants Biafra.

So what would you have the governor do? fold his arms and watch illiterate terrorists ruin the economy of the state ? you are most likely in Lagos, the reason you don't care about what your people are going through back home

Monday is for Nnamdi kanu
Nobody can change that until he is released from custody
It was a trap... I think meetings were held. Peace is necessary but the cause is ON

I don't stay in the east but from that picture.
The turn out is scanty.

I am not sure if you can force people to trade.
There's no logical explan that can make people be forced to buy and sell.

But then maybe he knows all the traders better

If you know how busy this market usually is, especially on normal days when traders and customers are everywhere, then you will understand that the pictures being displayed here are nothing compared to the real situation. What you’re seeing is child’s play. The market is still largely locked and far from normal operations. In fact, I heard that some people are moving around the market, taking note of shops that did not open. This alone shows that business activities have not truly resumed, despite what is being portrayed.

The market is locked, I have shop there and none came out

Even the market chairman resigned early hours of today
Better. I'm sure he did that to safeguard his life cos those who are familiar with the happenings around there all know that the bad boys will come after him if he flaunts their order to keep the market shut on Mondays.

Is the market open or not?
Who is talking about customers coming out? Is onitsha main market open or not? Is there any suppose sit at home protest schedule today going on or not?
Accept the bitter truth, fighting government is like swimming against the tide in a fast current ocean, the experience and lessons learnt will be long lasting.

does that place look like an opened market. Customers won't even dare to come.

That thing that told you, either did not tell you well, or you did not hear well. Again, if the thing told you well, you should have told the same thing that your favored sit at home is outlawed and long ended. Tell the thing that Soludo is no joker to play around with. Tell the thing that traders in Anambra state are tired of losses on Mondays. Tell the thing that children must go to school and the business of the state must not be stopped. Tell the thing that if it mistakenly repeats that horrible agenda, it will never speak again.

For your information, Anambra state had the most peaceful and enjoyable Christmas and new year holidays since 2019.

Thank you to @governorsoludo for restoring sanity in Anambra state.

Their matter weak me Sir...
Governor say reopen on Monday and the market is open now instead to accept defeat they say customers won't come out. Ofcourse the customers were waiting to see who's the strongest between the Government and all the (Emma powerless) factional groups and now they've seen.

It's annoying the kind of people who will rather self-sabotage all because they want to push an agenda that does them no good in any way! Whether they like or not, shops are opened!!

How Can People Just Close All Their Shops And Collapse The Economy of Their State Because a Convicted Terrorist Rotten Away in Sokoto Prison Told Them Not to Open shop.

On February 2, 2026, Onitsha Main Market — one of Nigeria's biggest commercial hubs — officially reopened its gates after a one-week temporary shutdown ordered by Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo.

The closure came as punishment for traders' continued observance of Monday "sit-at-home" orders (linked to regional security and IPOB issues), costing the state billions in lost revenue weekly. Governor Soludo had warned of stricter measures if markets stayed shut on Mondays, but today marks a return to normalcy — with security assurances from the state.

In this exclusive morning footage:
Traders and shoppers gradually returning to shops and stalls

Busy walkways with people carrying goods and opening up for business

Signs of life in the usually packed market sections
Some areas still quieter than usual, showing hesitation from fear or uncertainty
Is this a big win for Soludo against sit-at-home enforcers, or just partial compliance?
😂😂hunger na your mate? They couldn’t survive a week before common sense finally prevailed🤣🤣🤣 Soludo na man be joor😁
Re: Onitsha Main Market Finally Reopens Today After Soludo Shutdown(Photos, Video) by Cashio(m): 2:33pm On Feb 02
Or they'll be reluctant for a few weeks and then fully reopen afterwards. People are not sitting at home out of respect for nnamdi kanu but out of fear of their lives
