Berankis:
Writing all these medical jargons to bamboozle us doesn't change the fact that most Government-owned hospitals are very nonchalant when it comes to attending to Nigerians, especially ones requiring emergency medical attention.
A lot of their doctors are always disgruntled, angry and rude. Only a few remain calm and well behaved.
My last experience at the Lagos State General Hospital wasn't very pleasant at all. I just feel the current Nigeria is frustrating the hell out of every Nigerian.
Shut up, must we channel everything to government, you that is typing this blame do you have common first aid box in your house?

Should we channel it to you instead? Since you are one of the Government's data boys.

Okay.
So some pharmacies do sell antivenom?
imhere:
Hmmm...he didn't mentioned whether it's the hospital that provided the antivenom. In our own case, it was the person whom snake bite they sent to go and look for antivenom to buy. He bought one when I got there I was given a list of medicine to buy including antivenom. The hospital didn't have and the Pharmacy close to the hospital didn't have. I got it from a Pharmacy down the street. It was when I got there, the guy told me the man came himself to buy the antivenom

I was like how can you send a man who can to your hospital because of snake bite to go and be looking for where to buy antivenom.
This happened in Kubwa General hospital.

If you kill someone's child for instance you think you'll go scot-free because you don't believe in karma?

Even if you don't have children you'll definitely pay for your sin someday, and punishment doesn't end here on earth. There's life after death.......You'll still pay for your F- up when you arrive at the other side.
Our politicians eating money meant for hospitals, loool

baba check the budget govt spend on one Fmc and compare with the amount that was used to build the VP lodge.
I'm talking about how a supposed serious nurse will be lackadaisical about their duty ,pressing phone ,leaving duty post like the cashier or ,the receipt issuer will delay for hours before attending to a patient, after one has to wait hours before being attended to,and you're talking about budgets

So because of the said budget of the VIP lodge the innocent patiens should suffer and die for it as if they're the one that did the budgeting

Those nurses are they not being paid salaries and other bonuses ,those that did the budgeting goes abroad for medical assistant,so why making that yeye excuses for someone who's not doing their job well?

which nurses ? Those who attend to patients before asking to wait for their turn before seeing the doctor.

Are you hearing it for the first time how nurses will abandon patients and be pressing phone ? Or you think is a joke ?

EXPRESSSMAN:
Believe me, Nigerian doctors in government hospitals are not trying at all. Their attitude towards the patients is not good. They can abandon a patient in the middle of an operation when they hear go on strike.
But we are blaming the government for the rut in the hospitals and not the doctors. But the doctors need to put humanity in their services.
Why this hate nah? Which doctor abandoned a patient in the middle of an op? U guys just fabricate lies on the go

They know the kind of Job they want to do before they signed up for it, if they want to collect 100million per year they shouldn't be working as a Doctor but go into politics to earn 100 million

This excuses to justify Nigerian doctors incompetence is pathetic
hahaha, doctors abroad are well paid. So, if all doctors should leave, then who will treat us? Appreciate those who choose to stay becus they are hot cakes abroad and well taken care of. Saudi no dey joke with doctors. Na for Nigeria we dey over pay politicians while leaving those who truly work for the society.

PRESS STATEMENT FROM THE FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRE ABUJA

CLARIFICATION ON RECENT EVENTS REGARDING THE CASE OF LATE IFUNANYA LUCY NWANGENE

We wish to address the circulating discussion on social media concerning the unfortunate case of Ms. Ifunanya Lucy Nwagene, who tragically passed away due to neurotoxic complications following a snake bite on January 31, 2026.

First and foremost, we express our deepest condolences to the Nwagene family during this incredibly difficult time. The loss of a loved one is never easy, and our thoughts are with them.

We want to clarify that the management team at Federal Medical Centre, Abuja acted promptly and with the utmost care upon Ms. Nwagene's arrival. Our medical staff provided immediate and appropriate treatment, including resuscitation efforts, intravenous fluids, intranasal oxygen, and the administration of polyvalent snake antivenom.

After a thorough but quick evaluation, it was clear that Ms. Nwagene suffered severe neurotoxic complications from the snake bite. Despite all efforts to stabilize her condition and transfer her to the Intensive Care Unit for further treatment, she experienced a sudden deterioration just before the transfer. Our team of professionals worked diligently to provide CPR and other life-saving measures; however, despite these efforts, we were unable to revive her.

We stand by the quality of care and dedication our team demonstrates daily. The claims of non-availability of anti-snake venom and inadequate response are unfounded and do not reflect the reality of the situation. We are committed to transparency and integrity in our practices and will continue to pursue excellence in patient care.

In light of these events, we encourage our community to engage with credible sources for information and updates rather than relying on social media speculation. We remain available for any further inquiries or clarifications.

Thank you for your understanding.

DR. BIOKU MUFTAU,
HEAD OF CLINICAL SERVICES
FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTRE, ABUJA

This is a miracle.

But where can one find or get gbomgbonise? What other name do people know it with, so one can purchase it faster?
