I've been on this platform for years and I have been seeing young authors post stories. Some are good while some need lots of work on. I am trying to ask, how comfortable you are to post a story you laboured on for just likes and shares here? All the stress on editing, proofreading and even making the story make good sense. And you bring it all here just like that? Have you ever thought of guys stealing your efforts and changing and tweaking them to become theirs, and going ahead to post them on other sites for sales? If you dont know, it is easier to steal other people's stories these days of AI. All you just need is to copy such stories chapter by chapter and ask ChatGPT to reform and reframe the story and Gbam! You have your stories rewritten with better grammar and expressions and the intellectual thief gives it another title and he owns it. Be Smart. Only works you dont cherish you can just throw away like that. I just can't beat it! People who didn't write a word on your stories making money out of it while you live on likes and people's praises and shares here. Thats wonderful! Why spend so much time and resources to just come here to give it away? Well, life is a choice and you don't tell a billionaire how to spend his money. If he likes, he can give it up for charity. Likewise stories and stuffs. All the best guys. I was just curious. No hard feelings. |

StoryHaven:Very comfortable, and yes. Because I write them to influence minds, and not for my daily bread. In fact, they are like seeds. Some fall by the roadside and wither in the sun. Some fall on infertile minds and don't take root. And some fall on fertile minds and produce fruit a millionfold, and unlike the ten healed lepers, not one need come back to thank. People, listen to StoryHaven! Make money with you stories! |

Where are these platforms where I can make money through my stories? I dey wait. Many stopped writing because moderators repeatedly ban them in addition to the insult of people stealing their stories. Likes and shares feed no one. StoryHaven: |

budaatum:My guy, that's why I said in my post. No one tells a rich man how to spend his money. Many give 70% to charity. So do whatever you like with your stories. It is a free world. |

eepeepook:Major one is Amazon kdp. Get an account and upload your works. Google other ones. They are plenty. "Self publishing sites where Nigerians are eligible, " Some will turn you down but dont relent. I really wish I could start one for Nigerian and African writers but Ive got lots of other commitments. Many sites dont give Africans the chance to showcase their books due to discrimination. Sometimes its only South Africa you'll find there. But just keep trying till you find one. KDP is sure. And there are lots of threads on Nairaland that teaches on how to set up a KDP account. Find them and study. |

How much can I make off Amazon KDP? It’s not up to a year ago, I came across a thread of you asking how it works and how you can sign up. Don’t lead me on a mission for fools gold. StoryHaven: |

eepeepook:Me asking, how Amazon works not up to a year? NOT ME. May be I was asking another question not how it works. I have been on Amazon more than 10 years so how would I be asking how it works. ![]() May be the thread you saw was the one I was venting my frustration about payment. I was using Payoneer to receive their payment and Payoneer was reaping me off. So I was asking guys on other options better than Payoneer. That said, about your question on how much one can make on Amazon. It depends on how serious and passionate you are with Amazon. In my venting post, I mentioned that lately sales has been terribly poor. The time I made a couple of 100s of dollars was during Covid and shortly after that it nosedive to almost making nothing. Even up till now. I am a practical person and I won't sugarcoat anything to promote myself or a thread. I am a Christian. My guy, sincerely as we speak, there are lots of people making six figures on Amazon. Only they can say how they are getting it. And they are mostly whites. I used to follow writer forums on Facebook and I see them commenting saying you ought to be publishing at least two or three books every week to be making money on Amazon. Two to three books? How is that possible? They claim it is possible that instead of wanting to produce high content books, it is better to produce low content one and so on and so forth. I dont have time to type all the jargon that say. So, all I can say is you've got to take it as a profession to make it on Amazon. As for me presently, I can't. I have my personal profession. I am a Fine Artist. Writing is just a hobby. It is sad to let you know that through out last month all I saw on my dashboard for the month was $4.46 not up to 5dollars. The books sold were just two. A drawing book and one I wrote on stammering.I dont have the time. So, asking how much one can make is not a question I can give you direct answer if that's what you're expecting. It depends on several factors. Some people still make six figures as we speak. Then, to be candid. Few African fictions sell on Amazon. Most whites are racists and it shows in their approach towards African Novels or stories. African stories sell poorly. But I learnt that some African publishing sites are springing up now. If you want to make money online, you make research. Google, YouTube, etc are there. Shalom. I dont have time to edit this post, so manage the errors like that. |

eepeepook:Have you tried publishing on LULU.COM? Nigerians are eligible and they distribute to other platforms too. That makes them better than Amazon kdp. Amazon kdp publishes on their platform alone. But Lulu publishes on their own platform, and as well pushes your books to other platforms, even Amazon. I dont have my books on Lulu yet but I have an account with them and will soon push my books there. Note: They charge 5 dollars one time payment. And if you use their free ISBN, they become the publisher of the particular book for life and you can not move your book elsewhere. Goodluck |

How do you make money as an artist? Am an artist too naturally. I love anything that concerns fine art, but the problem is, i can't find a system in which it will start bringing income for me. Good morning. StoryHaven: |

Love800:My guy, art is a diverse subject. To make it in Art in Nigeria as we speak, you have to be extremely good. You need to do many other things aside paintings and sculpture. For example, do you know that many artists are into house painting? ![]() People dont appreciate art in Nigeria. Those who do dont have means to purchase it. Those who have the means and love art are few. Can you see the problem? So, if you are a professional artist, your best bet is to leave Naija and go to places where art flourishes. Presently, I am not in Nigeria. Stay blessed bro. |
