Peter Obi, a prominent figure within the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has signaled his plan to seek the party’s presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He revealed this ambition while addressing supporters at a campaign event for the ADC candidates in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Area Council elections, which took place at the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC.

In his remarks, Obi made it clear that he is aiming for the top position and would not settle for a subordinate role in the party’s long-term political strategy.

He stressed that the AMAC election is closely tied to his wider political aspirations and called on party faithful and local residents to throw their weight behind the ADC candidate.

According to Obi, success in the AMAC poll would play a crucial role in advancing his political mission, adding that his involvement in the coming elections is as a leading contender and not in a supporting capacity.

“This coming election, support us in AMAC; it will help me. Your support in AMAC is critical to our journey. I am involved and contesting the coming election as number one. When I come back, you will see. I assure you,” Obi said.

Obi’s supporters, particularly members of the Obidient Movement, have intensified pressure on the ADC leadership to adopt him as the party’s standard-bearer for 2027, with many insisting that the ticket should go to Obi alone.

However, the ADC is hosting several other high-profile politicians with presidential ambitions, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.

Just make sure you actually go out there and cast your vote for Tinubu. Don't think sitting at home and eating Ofe Nsala soup will be enough to ensure that outcome. It won't. You will only be throwing away your political leverage. It will be far better to make it count by voting for Tinubu. It's not the threat you all think it is.

I honestly think it will be a rollercoaster victory for Tinubu in 2027, exactly same scenario that happened in the last election will play out again, so if Atiku refuses to bulge and hammer Obi at ADC primaries with his bottomless dollar pit of money then Obi supporters will turn out in low numbers, so Atiku may likely win in the north and Tinubu will come closely second there, but by the time he clears the SW ,SS and get tidy numbers from the SE then he will get that national spread when all the numbers add up, so with 30 governor's in his bag and a substantial numbers of Senators and Rep members then victory is assured, I predict Tinubu taking 60% , Atiku 20% obi 15% while other candidates like kwankwaso scrap for the rest.

Lol. Is that what you were told? Well, Obi has always maintained he's gunning for the number one spot in the ADC. He has also always maintained that whoever wins will be supported by all in the party. The mistake you all keep making is assuming the other candidates have no voting bloc and support base just because they are not garrulous online and make a lot of noise about it. If Obi ends up winning the ADC primaries, will he not be counting on the support and votes of the others within the ADC? Noise is not equivalent to superior numbers and it's hardly a political strategy.
