Kwara: Bandits Gun Down Villagers, Set Palace On Fire by iwaeda(op): 11:59pm On Feb 03
About 10 People were feared killed on Tuesday evening when bandits invaded Woro community in Kaiama Local government area of Kwara State.

The attack according to locals started around 6:00 pm. The gunmen said to be numbering about 200 stormed the village shooting sporadically.

According to one of the residents, Mr Ahmed Yinusa, “The bandits operated for over one hour before the military were mobilised to the place.

He however said “but the distance from the Kaiama to the village is over 50 kilometers and the road condition is very deplorable which made it difficult for the military to get there on time.

The terrorists were about 200 and they killed several people in the process. But unconfirmed reports reaching us is that about 10 people have been killed with several houses set ablaze”, he told Daily Trust Tuesday night.

Another resident of Kaiama, Mallam Idris Mohammed said about 6 corpses were presently lying at the Palace of the Emir of the Woro, Alhaji Saliu Bio Umar.

He added that the bandits further set the palace ablaze.

“It was not clear before the filing of this report whether the Emir was around.”

The lawmaker representing Kaiama at the state House of Assembly, Hon Halidu Danbaba, confirmed the incident in a telephone chat with Daily Trust Tuesday night.

He appealed to the Kwara and federal governments to extend the recent military action in Kwara South and other parts of the north to Kaiama especially given the recent go ahead for the resumption of school in those areas.

In a statement late Tuesday, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq condemned the attack and mourned the victims.

The statement said the governor was saddened by the “cowardly attack on civilians in Woro and Nuku communities of Kaiama Local Government Area”.

According to him, “this is a cowardly expression of frustration by terrorist cells following the ongoing counterterrorism campaigns in parts of the state and the successes so far recorded.

“The attack was apparently to distract the security forces who have successfully hunted down several terrorist and kidnapping gangs across many parts of the state”.

He expressed his “heartfelt condolences to the affected communities especially the families affected”, the state by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye added.

If it is protest now. They can afford 100,000 armed officers to keep people in line but dont have a thousand officers to go after 300 known terrorists on motorcycles.

Before our very eyes, Kwara is being emptied of its human quantity, and folks are quiet.
They are rather busy fighting to stop "Sit at Home" at Anambra.
Thread will not pass page 2. It is "operation see no evil, talk no evil", as long as "our son" is the president..

Am just wondering why the federal government under Mr Tinubu will allow this impunity across the nation. Does he have any agreement with the terrorists to look away while they inflict terrorism in the citizens?
Re: Kwara: Bandits Gun Down Villagers, Set Palace On Fire by iwaeda(op): 7:07am On Feb 04
If you are supporting this evil government, just because of fleeting rewards, always remember your family may not be that lucky. Most villages in Kwara are emptied due to insecurity and 95% of them are farmers. In a normal country APC should not get 10000 votes, but this is Nigeria, where we think upside down. grin grin cry cry cry cry cry

Security is barely improving. They have only placed a media embargo on reportage with only few media outfits still reporting on insecurity. As far as APC is concerned, if it isn't reported then it never happened.

The fact the this Politicians know what would solve this issue and refused to do it is funny

The citizens to know what the solution but can't block national Assembly till the solution is passed as law is funnier

State and community policing is the solution especially if they are allowed to carry ak47... This insecurity won't last 1 month from the day the law is passed

Re: Kwara: Bandits Gun Down Villagers, Set Palace On Fire by aariwa(m): 5:56pm On Feb 04
That was how they turned borno into a theatre of war and once such problems starts it never ends but gets worse and continues expanding. Today we are not talking only about borno or yobe but today zamfara , buhari kastina parts of sokoto, Niger etc are under their control. The jihadists are actively migrating southwards while our government focus on propaganda and anti SE rhetorics. Kwara is the gateway to Yorubaland from the north shows bad governance does not know tribe or religion

I have said it many times, Nigeria government does not want any one living in the rural areas, because they are mostly farmers. The government and the so called elites want to control the food system.

This is how Nigeria implements it's own version of "new world order" It's the beast system. Order out of chaos.
