This flyover is aesthetically defective as it blocks the magnificent view of the Assumpta Cathedral when driving.
True, but it's serving its purpose of easing traffic in that axis, so we are okay with it.

What is Imo state doing about the educational sector?what had happened to the general hospitals Rochas built in all the local governments in Imo state?

What's the latest about the Eastern Palm University?

I believe Hope is doing a good job reviving dormant educational institutions. There was a sprawling polytech in my home town that was abandoned which is now being brought back to life, modernized and expanded.

Please, if you don't mind, can I get the name of the polytechnic?

That's really good... Hope isn't all that useless

The road construction from Owerri to Umuahia is topnotch, has reduced transport time considerably... I just hope the road is still solid by my next visit

On a side note, I wonder what's stopping investors from setting up CNG filling stations in Imo state... Looking at the state's designation as an oil and gas state, I believe it'll even be cheaper, thereby reducing cost of transportation... Something similar to what Edo state is enjoying.

Was Turing searching for one during my last visit

Thanks for this. I had to check it out after your comment... Never knew it's even in operation now

However, the school still has a lot to do in "marketing" itself

Just behind this picture, there's an uncompleted twin building that belongs to the Imo State government which has been abandoned for decades.

I don't know why the state has refused to convert it into something else or sell it to private people.

lovely, looking forward to seeing the end result. Geographically, Imo should be a primary transport site for Nigeria as a whole. We're the bridge between SS and SE.

Are you not using that word wrongly? When you talk about SE transport corridor, it's Anambra and Enugu. When you talk about SE and SS you consider Edo and Enugu

Governor Hope Uzodinma inspects the progress of work at the Nigeria Air Force base in Owerri. Air Force projects are supposed to be federal projects - I don't understand why he's taking them up.

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by SmartPolician: 8:54am On Feb 24
Governor Hope Uzodinma shares an update on ongoing 22km Orlu–Mgbe–Akokwa–Uga Road, a federal road that is being reconstructed by his administration.

Rochas Okorocha and Hope Uzodinma were in APC, but there's nothing significant that the APC federal government did for the state.

If a governor argues that he's joining APC to attract the dividends of democracy, that's a lame excuse. Hope Uzodinma is even constructing federal roads.

I'm using the word correctly. Owerri is the most equidistant capital/economic center of all the South East South South capitals. The airport is busier than Enugu (and Igbo contolled), and Enugu is international. Edo only matters because it's on the way to Lagos. Edo is further from Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross Rivers than Imo. It is only politics that makes Edo South South.

If you look only at state capitals in the South-East + South-South (Enugu, Owerri, Umuahia, Awka, Abakaliki, Asaba, Benin City, Yenagoa, Port Harcourt, Uyo, Calabar), the capital that sits **most centrally — with the smallest average travel distance to the others — is generally Owerri.
