Basic123:That's just the point I am here to make(the bolded), I only commented on this thread because of that, the glory of the FG should not be stolen and given to anyone, call a spade a spade, My point is Lagos was largely developed by the FG and no state in Nigeria has received quarter of the investment Lagos has received from the FG aside maybe Abuja. |

boringdraw:You're a Liar. The only reason you can read and write is because of Independence in 1960 following which thousands of public schools were built nationwide by the "evil Nigerian leaders" without whom you would be a village palmwine tapper today. The British only built a tiny handful of "missionary schools" for their native clerks and translators to attend. At independence Nigerian literacy rate was 7%. Today it's 74%. |

Basic123:You are talking about railway project that Lagos and the north were also beneficiaries, have you seen Igbos claiming it was Enugu state the built the rails? No, so my point is, give the FG the deserved credit for any project that was executed for Lagos, I have noticed these style of trying to always rewrite history when it comes to Lagos and downplay the role of FG, My point is Lagos is majorly what is is today largely because of the FG just like Abuja is what it is today because of the FG... Give the FG their deserved credit. |

Brendaniel:Even it was it was cocoa money and tax from the west that was used in lagos development. Money from lagos development didn't come from outside lagos or the west. That's the fact. The western people tax was used in starting lagos development and for your information calabar was the first chosen capital of southern Nigeria but it couldn't give them what lagos had so it was moved to lagos. |

nairalanda1:That is because you are now measuring riches in terms of acquisition of manufactured things. Forgetting that they were rich in food, clothing, shelter, family, There was always employment and could marry multiple wives with many many children and lived to 90yrs and beyond. All of which are gone today. So, they really were great good ol days |

Brendaniel:Lagos island not Lagos state. No one is re-writing history however, you are being obtuse by chanting "Lagos,Lagos ,Lagos" like a broken record player. Am sure, you are aware of the difference between Lagos island - the Colonial seat of power at thr time and Lagos state, that was created in 1967. |
