How long before a slave turns up to praise the colonial prison?

Funny how they never built a single university or power plant, but built massive prisons and police buildings for the Nigerian masses.

Apart from the College, barracks and airport, the whole industrial estate and GRA belonged to the Western Region.

Before anyone comes and starts saying the good old days

1. Under colonial rule, most people did not have access to good roads, good power supply, and potable water

2. Only a tiny minority went to school, even fewer went to colleges like these

3. Most people were not rich. They were poor.

4. Development was dependent on whether the colonialists found your area useful to their purposes. Hence the police college being built in Lagos.
Speak for yourself and not what you don't know.

My paternal g/father was a school headmaster in the 1920s (so he must have had some form of education) before going into Produce buying business in the 30s. He certainly wasn't poor as he was able to send all his sons to Kings College and even his daughters to Queens College in the 50s.

All my uncles (3) including my dad studied in England before 1960 whilst my aunties (2) also studied in England.

Lagos island not Lagos state. No one is re-writing history however, you are being obtuse by chanting "Lagos,Lagos ,Lagos" like a broken record player.

Am sure, you are aware of the difference between Lagos island - the Colonial seat of power at thr time and Lagos state, that was created in 1967.
I'm not too bothered about where was Lagos or not Lagos island and what not... My concern here are projects, investments by the FG whether in Lagos or Lagos island, give the FG its credits...

All part of Nigeria including ENUGU,ONITSHA ETC weredeveloped by the FG,the state governments and NATIVES!

YOU CANT BE REMINDING US OF FG WHEN LAGOS IS MENTIONED BUT KEEP QIET WHEN ENUGU,PORT HARCOURT AND KADUNA THAT WERE ALL BUILT FROM THE SCRATCH BY THE COLONIAL MASTER AND FG ARE BEING MENTIONED

They met LAGOS as a city while those 3 including ABUJA are pure creation of the FG and COLONIAL MASTERS...LEAVE LAGOS ALONE AND FACE THE QUAD
The question you should be asking is: was the development equal and is it still equal?

If it was equal why is Abuja more developed than Ekiti, Osun, Ogun, Oyo and Ondo states?

You can stay and be deceiving yourself...

That was part of Western Region wink

Ikeja was carved out from the defunct Western region to give the Lagos State created in 1967 sufficient land mass and access to some strategic assets still under control of OODUA till date.

That's why it's laughable to confuse Lagos with Lagos State.
Only lagos Island was the Capital
The Rest was inside Awolowo’s western Region

Look at the map

The little dot at the Bottom was lagos Island the Capitals
It was 9.3 Sq Km out of todays 3577 sq Km of lagos State, the rest belonged to the Western Region

Lekki to Badagry belonged to Awolowo and the Western Region

Even the Entrance from the Sea into lagos Harbour leading to lagos Island belonged to Awolowo’s Western Region

After the FG completely ran out of Land on lagos Island the Western Region helped the FG out by allowing it to locate some of its Facilities in the Western Region lagos

FG built all Nigerian Major Bridges including Lokoja jebba onitsha Idah Bridges not just lagos

Out of the 5 LG of lagos Awolowo controlled 4 ikeja,Epe,Ikorodu,Badagry,
ikeja included the lagos Coast in those days
All this is very common knowledge

only lagos island LG was under the FG control because it was Capital

Saying good old days is a complete PRIMACY BIAS!

Nigeria has never had a good old days!
I don't know what part of Nigeria your parents are from because some people were still living in some jungles running naked with stick in the 1930's while this college and Lagos Airport were being built. There were good old days when naira was double the value of dollars. There were good old days when no Nigerian needed a visa to visit the UK and other countries. There were good old days before criminals invaded the SW when you will hardly find hairy chested yam legged prostitutes all over the land. There were old days when graduates from foreign universities had guaranteed employment upon returning home. When people spent months and years writing quality music before heading to the studio. When Christians think about eternity values before taking any action not about a dollar raining Messiah.
There were good old days.

There was no helicopter in Lagos in 1939. Truly, how did they get this?
The first aircraft landed in Lagos in 1926. The colonial government controlled the airspace and had access to planes or choppers of that era.

There can never be equal development everywhere because money is a scarce resource.

development has to do with how much a place makes and the skillset of the people of that place or how much is invested into infrastructural developments of that place either by the people of that place, government or external investors.

Its private individuals, politicians, external investors that are developing Abuja.

Helicopter. I studied Geography in the early 2000s, and I was part of the team that carried out the naming of the streets in lagos that's used for apps like Google Maps today. Our lecturer gave us aerial pictures of segments of lagos and we went to the areas in groups to write the names of all the streets as they appeared in the aerial photos. I handled the ebutte metta area of lagos...mehn! It was tough work.

Oyo, Ogun, Ekiti, Osun, Ondo are more developed than Abuja if you consider the size of Abuja to those states?

Abuja has more economic activities than those states except Oyo and Ogun.

Why is Akwa ibom, Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa not mord developed than Abujahuh

Your point is not the truth and not based on facts so your point is false.

If your daddy is giving one of your siblings N800,000 monthly and an outsider hears it and starts saying your daddy gives his children N800,000 monthly is that the truth?

Is anyone com plaining about Abuja being developed by the FG?

No, that's because the indigents are not claiming they developed Abuja and telling people to leave Abuja, that's the issue I have with you guys and Lagos, give FG its credit....

You guys always come up with preposterous argument. Who ever confused Lagos with Lagos State. Have people been confusing Kano with Kano state or Jigawa with Jigawa state. You guys create argument out of your own stack illiteracy.
A lot of people do. Lagos is one of the five divisions in Lagos State, the other four are Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu and Epe. The last four were part of the defunct Western Region and were developed by the Western Region Government largely.

I am an Ijebu man from Epe and do find it offensive when people ignorantly call me a Lagosian. The indigenous people of Ikeja are Aworis, Badagry are Eguns and Aworis, Ikorodu and Epe are mainly Ijebus (a few Lagosians settled in Epe with King Kosoko of Lagos when he was exiled).
