Enugu has just taken delivery of double-deck tourist buses ordered by Governor Mbah.

But this is much more than a bus, and Governor Mbah is not thinking transportation.

Yes, Double Decker bus is not an achievement. The achievement is what Peter Mbah is doing with it - boosting Enugu tourism, global appeal, and IGR. Beside, this isn't the beginning of his achievements in Enugu state. Stop hating. And yes, he is by far better than Obi. I've been saying this since when he was in PDP.

I see many of you hating on Peter Mbah because he's in APC. He started transforming Enugu when he was in PDP. I don't know what you guys are smoking. The funny thing is that most of you saying this are Igbo. So you hate the best performing governor in the your region and one of the best in Nigeria simply because he moved from PDP to APC? You can't be real. What happened to "we vote for the person not the party" you all parrot when Obi was still in the LP? Hypocrites!

Alex Otti is not a top tier governor. You can see this with the quality and types of projects he did in Abia.

The issue is Abia was getting zero, literally zero, governance for decades so much that Otti's bare minimum governance seemed like heaven on earth. Their last governor was proud to say on national television that his administration gives 500 naira to nursing mothers after deliveries - Abia had it that bad. So a new governor coming in to construct street roads looks like he's a messiah from heaven.

Otti is not among the best but he's far better than his predecessors.

The NUMBER ONE FACTOR THAT DRIVES TOURISM IS SECURITY, no amount or number of double or triple decker buses will attract tourist,
second is good infrastructure like good road networks and also good tourist secured and peaceful tourist attractions, no one will waste his or her money to visit a place full of unknown gunmen, kidnapper's ad other negative things all because the place has double decker buses. the money spent on buying these buses could have been spent in repairing more road networks in the state. every year thousands of tourists from western world and even Africa troop to Ghana for just one reason , PEACE OF MIND .Ghana road network are still developing but in Ghana you can move at any time , no fear of robbery , police check everywhere , the peace of mind alone drives even Nigerians in their thousands to visit Ghana on a yearly basis and yet they didn't spend huge millions buying double ecker buses . this move can only make sense if people can prove that all the roads within eneugu capital are all very good and likewise roads outside the state capital.
development is not always about spending money just to copy other nations things but spending money wisely to first develop your own place for your own people , it is then people outside will want to visit your place. make your country great for yourself then people will come and see

Isn't it the same Enugu State where the National Museum has been turned into drinking joint? Tourism is not just about taking people to go see water fall or driving them around the state, it calls for more than that. For instance, the state needs to know her history, have well documented history of those places and all notable events that can be readily accessible at the tourist center. The guides should also be well educated. Aside that, security is paramount.
