'He is creating opportunities....' What kind of thinking is this. Where are the plans, where are the working documents towards, where are the elements of a working tourism industry to which the government is supposedly investing in. You will think the other things are in place and the operators (preferably private investors) are asking for government intervention or assistance or investment by providing these buses. But in Nigeria it is always the cart before the horse because things are never planned or purposed. They are always driven by interests, by contractors. In a few months or years you will never see or hear of this again. Reason, no root, no branch and no leaves to bear fruits. As a matter of fact no desire to farm by the people. Want a tourism industry?, you start by selling an idea that is all encompassing to all citizenry, you sell the benefits so that it can succeed long term over many governments because the people see it as an economic lifeline. Then you hold summits to fashion plans on what to do, by whom and to what group and what and how to start. And to who and what the benefits will accrue. Then you share, as it were responsibilities perhaps based on equity. It is to these plans that the government will have identified that it's responsibilities are to provide transportation at this time hence the buses it has provided. |

EponObi:Agbadorians can't do without mentioning Obi. Honestly, too many senseless people were hired to defend this clueless government. FYI, stop comparing Obi and Mbah because they aren't in the same category. You can as well compare Tinubu with Mbah. |

columbusinso:I believe government can do both at the same time,.social programs and sectoral investments/establishment. The former is purely a non profit government responsibility. The latter should be a profit driven public/private sector joint venture to which government's role is limited to framework, supervision and a small equity if is so desires. But government should plan carefully and learn from the mistakes of other states that have dabbled into such things and today they are dust. Take a cue from the infamous Cross-River tourism ventures and where they ar today and see the limitations of government trying to drive what I term a business. |

Arostar2023:When that day comes and this your rehashed nónsênse isn't what's obtainable, you lots will always find something else to say! Nobody is falling for it Some of us will never pick an Obi over an Umahi, Mbah, Soludo, NOI, Uzodinma, Kalu even Otti because you all had already told us what a failure he was as Governor (and the evidence speak loud and clear for themselves) before throwing his hat in the ring for the presidency! Who are we to doubt the reviews from his own kinsmen? Do you want to now deny all the evidence that abound? We know you want the presidency and we sympathise with you but you see if it's Obi kiss it goodbye! We'll wait for the best you have to offer. None of these aforementioned are coming to "challenge any tribal tin gods" biko, calm down, they will gladly be voted for when they emerge. Onugo! |

Rebelutionary:You, you are all about party and tribe. I am all about selfless politicians irrespective of tribe. People like Orji Uzor has been selling his people short because of selfish personal gains... You glorify anything that suits your love for APC and tribe. Which one is CityBoy... That's like some corrupt elites coming together to mock the majority suffering masses. |

SMerchant:So anybody that doesn't align with your political definition of a "selfless politician" somehow you believe is "selling his people out"! Wow, what ïnanity on display! We see how hate rules some of you and somehow you think you can force the hands of people to choose and do your bidding...nah we're in a democracy! One minute you are all: "igbos are republican and have a mind of their own" and the next you are demonically trying label everyone who chooses a different path as "sabo" all because that doesn't suit you! |
| Re: Enugu Acquires Double-Deck Tourist Buses To Boost Tourism by Reference(m): 9:05am On Feb 05 |
ufotunang:My. Brother, I don't know. But this is how we do things in this country. It is clear. Someone was recently in London for holidays and was led around in a double decker bus and has decided all the money he spent on himself and his family can be recouped by selling this idea to the government...and unfortunately has succeeded. This is how our governments here work. They are infiiltrated by interest groups, overwhelmed by the cries of contractors peddling all sorts of ill-thought off ideas and schemes that the rulers lap up to remain in power. Well the money has been spent. So the citizens have to start to ask the serious questions about how this 'vision' will succeed if they have any value for their resources being spent. Cross-River is a poster child for good intentions gone horribly wrong. I just hope they have repaid those millions of dollars borrowed way back then. |

Na part of wetin he rode on and copied from 1st District around Wien Mitte to Schönbrunn Palace, when he was on city view of Vienna be that. Security of people, memorable and worthwhile places to visit and purchasing power people have to be considered, firstly, before embarking on investing in tourism.

Is bus the only thing to show for the heavy taxation, igr and allocation by Enugu? State where even widow hawkers is taxed. State made of 3 senatorial zones. Not even a meter of road in one of the zones. For almost 3 years. Audio government ruled by tax masters ![]() |

Maintenance is the thing. Some years later, you'll find them being packed at the government house workshop. Probably vandalized. |

Do they buy the bus from INNOSON, or from foreign company? If not how do you expect local manufacturer to boost employment. |

| Re: Enugu Acquires Double-Deck Tourist Buses To Boost Tourism by bykmyk(m): 5:14pm On Feb 05 |
Double Decker bus won't attract tourism. Peter Mbah ain't doing much as a Governor. All this project associated to him can be done by a sound and project minded council Chairman. Anyways let's see how acquiring bus will attract foreigners to a state. Until Nigeria start voting their leaders this is what we will keep hearing... |

Like I said, you can only deceive kids and non‑discerning Igbos. Since after the civil war, which Igbo man has had more national appeal than Peter Obi? Before Peter Obi, anyone who tried to gain national ascendancy was politically shut down by a gang‑up from other ethnic groups who were afraid of what an Igbo man could do if given power at the national level. Unless by a special intervention of God, Peter Obi is the surest shot the South East has at the presidency in this present time and for many years to come. That's why APC and their lackeys are trying so hard to demarket him for so many months.. Rebelutionary: |
