Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, in the company of other notable senators — held a press conference today where they directly addressed reports that the Senate had rejected electronic transmission of election results and retained the 2023 Electoral Act. He appears to contradict the explanation given by the Senate President Godswill Akpabio yesterday. According to Senator Abaribe, the Senate’s Electoral Committee agreed on electronic transmission of results, not "transfer of results" as was the case with the 2022 electoral act. Here is the full transcript of his speech: We felt, those of us who are still around, that it would be necessary to make a clarification of what happened yesterday, to put the records straight. Yesterday, the Senate did not, I repeat, did not pass transfer of results, which was in the 2022 act. What we passed, and which the Senate president himself, when he was doing a clarification, sitting on his chair, is transmission of results. And I need to make this very clear.

How many times are we going to see something passed into law, but another thing released officially? People were warned in 2023 about voting for drug dealers thinking their past was in the past (though we know they didn't win, but some people voted for them with that reasoning). |

I will never believe Akpabio. The truth is not coming from his direction. Something does not add up about the electronic transmission of election results. |

There are so many countries out there that are worst and more corruption ridden than this country..... But from the depth of my heart and with all sincerity (If not that My Lord And Saviour JESUS CHRIST don't make mistakes) i would have say that i regret been a Nigerian. I have my own personal reasons and conviction |

But APC guy's said they will win in a free and fair election. I can bet with everything, Obi won the last election so they will do everything within their power to win. Shameless lots. |

Elusive001:Aside Nigerians, the opposition are the weakest. I remembered how APC rendered Jonathan useless. ADC and oppositions are supposed to hit that National Assembly. If they can't they should forget the 2027 elections. |

Who is Enyinanya Abaribe ? Why does it remind me of a calamity like a fatal snake bite that one would rather not remember ? Oh ! It's the IPOB senator ! No wonder it rings eerie bells. Anyway, this is your word against mine. So we await the input of the whole red chamber. |

The president should as a matter of urgency sign the bill into law. Where was Abaribe the runaway surety for the convicted criminal Nnamdi Kanu when the bill was passed? Did he raise any objections then? Social media senator 😞. The bill will be signed and you all gonna wail and nothing will happen. They have perfected plans to hack the inec irev portal same way they planned to do in 2019 before buhari outsmarted them by postponing the election for two weeks. |

Nigeria is not ripe for electronic transmission of results nationwide. Our infrastructure is weak to do that. Until we are ready, manual transmission of results should continue. As strong as our Banks network are, low budget Yahoo boys still find way to hack them. My advice is for all political parties to have their agents across all the polling units and ensure they have the signed copies of the results. Was the election Jonathan won by manual transmission of results in 2011 also rigged? Why the cry now? You want to hack the inec irev portal abi, unna never reach. |

| Re: Senator Abaribe, Others, Counter Akpabio On Results Transmission by Obaofaba: 8:36pm On Feb 05 |
donleo92:Having the person you claim is siphoning monies meant for his constituency good for democracy? You are indeed one of the problems of this country. Simply because the ineffective Buffon is against the president makes him good for democracy despite being a thief as you claim? |

Electronic transmission of results is the way the eirld has gone. But those who want to depend on manual transmission that makes it easier for them to rig election will naturally fight the idea |
