What South East need is Free Trade zones Teach our people what it means and how it's helps them avoid the stupid nd useless economic fiscal and monetary policy of Nigeria Then is cheap international loan from banks operating only within the free trade zones If we achieve this we focuse on wholesale distribution not in Nigeria but across Africa , central and South America for a start Imagine Aba garment industry moved to a free trade zone in Aba They can import raw materials with zero custom duty... Yes zero, they make clothes send to warehouses in Ghana, Cameroon, Kenya, South Africa, and the rest... Then South Americas Imagine how many billionaires this one sector can produce We have like 150sectors like this that we can tap Free trade zone saves China from socialist wack economics policy it can save igbos from same thing in Nigeria |

It should be located in Imo state. Imo state don't have big markets like Anambra and Abia, so they needed one ASAP. |

What have all these regional commissions achieved since they were inaugurated? Is Tinubu even funding them or does he want to use them for a cheap political score? |

Lionnation:That is correct! No doubt too, the governor of Enugu is doing some great work. Soludo is just consumed with playing politics rather than doing the actual work he is voted in for. |
| Re: Governor Mbah Pushes For A Common South East Market by banom(m): 8:53pm On Feb 05 |
mrvitalis:You are very intelligent...this is exactly what I had thought many years ago..I expected soludo a professor in economics to have pushed for things like tht, and the kind of initiative governor mbah just brought out. While the initiative is great, and will bring lots of leverage to the South east, they should also be strategic enough with it so tht the federal government will not sabotage it, because the rest of Nigerians hates anything that will bring igbos together and make them powerful...they should also avoid internal politik that will destroy the initiatives |

Someone should remind the loudmouth that the people of Enugu are still waiting for the water he promised them. Two free trade zones should be established in the south-east. All Fulani criminals should be chased away from Lokpanta, a tri-border area between Enugu, Imo and Abia, extending east to Eziato Quarry. There should be a fast train service running from Aba through Umuahia, Okigwe, Lokpanta, Enugu and terminating at Abakaliki. Another should be established to the west, on the border between Anambra and Imo, in the area between Ogwuaniocha and Onwakiko connected by a fast train link running between Asaba/Onitsha throught Nnewi, Owerri and terminating at Aba. A direct fast rain connection between Asaba/Onitsha to Enugu via Awka also provides a necessary linkage. This will encourage Ndigbo to dinvest from Lagos and other south-west locations, including those in the north states and west African sub regios countries. The message should be: whatever you need, come and get it in the South East. An added positive effect would be a massive inflow of diaspora funds in the form of equity capital and real estate investments. Enugu Air operations will massively grow as a result, Akani Ibiam as a true international airport will manifest and an additional SE airline based in Owerri will add adittional transportation backbone. With this, the SE will unleash its true economic potensial within the Nigerian state. |
