Peter Obi Reacts To Senate’s Rejection Of E-Transmission Of Results by Segunbabba(op): 11:05pm On Feb 05
The 2023 presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, has strongly criticised the Senate’s rejection of mandatory electronic transmission of election results, describing the move as a grave setback to Nigeria’s democracy and a deliberate attempt to undermine electoral credibility ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Obi made his position known in a statement posted on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday.

According to him, the Senate’s refusal to adopt compulsory electronic transmission of results amounts to “an unforgivable act of electoral manipulation” and a direct assault on democratic principles.

This failure to pass a clear safeguard is nothing short of a deliberate assault on Nigeria’s democracy,” Obi said, adding that by rejecting transparency measures, lawmakers were weakening the foundation of credible elections.

He questioned the true purpose of government, asking whether it exists to ensure justice and order or to institutionalise chaos for the benefit of a few individuals.

Obi argued that the controversies, disputes and alleged irregularities that characterised previous elections, particularly the 2023 general election, were largely a result of the failure to fully implement electronic transmission of results.

He dismissed claims of technical “glitches” during the elections as excuses, noting that several African countries have successfully adopted electronic transmission to strengthen their democratic systems.

While other African nations are moving forward, Nigeria, the so-called giant of Africa, continues to lag behind, dragging itself and the continent backwards,” he said.

Obi further warned that rejecting mandatory electronic transmission entrenches disorder and confusion aimed at perpetuating the interests of a small clique, urging leaders to reflect on the future of the country and the wellbeing of the next generation.

Referring to past remarks by international leaders, Obi noted that Nigeria often reacts angrily to criticism but continues to validate such assessments through actions that oppose transparency and reform.

When we were called a ‘now disgraced nation,’ we were offended. Yet, with every act of resistance against reform, we continue to confirm those labels,” he said.

He cautioned that the alleged irregularities witnessed during the 2023 elections must not be repeated in 2027, calling on Nigerians to remain vigilant and committed to democratic principles.

Obi also urged the international community to pay close attention to what he described as groundwork being laid for future electoral manipulation, warning that it poses serious risks to Nigeria’s democracy and development.

Obi, when there was e-transmission of results, did you win?

You claimed you won the election and would prove it. You went to court and was asking for the winner to be disqualified based on your claim of drug forfeiture, double nomination of a running mate and certificate. You failed to prove any and was more fixated on entertaining yourself and those you lied to. You failed to produce figures of how and where you won. You said you won and expected people to agree. Your party had no situation room. One of your followers decided to do a social-media collation based on uploaded results on IREV. He stopped when his own collation showed you were losing again.

You wanted to be president using wuruwuru method.

Even if there is to be no e-transmission to INEC in 2027, it doesn't mean your agents cannot take pictures of published results at polling units and send to your social media situation room for collation.

I think you are crying because you are aware that your 2027 journey will not end in the presidency, that is if ADC trusts you with the ticket. You are trading blames as an insurance for defeat.

The fact opposition thought this Tinubu and national Assembly would allow compulsory transmission of results from polling unit... Without being forced shows they don't really know Tinubu

Rigging is done at the LGA collection center( that's where 70% happen) ward collection (20%)
Once u allow polling unit transmission rigging drops by 90%

Opposition must call for national protests shut down national Assembly till the right bill is passed

It is really appalling that instead of moving forward with what the world practice we are retrogressing to becoming " business as Usual". This a shame for a country with people of high intellect and portfolio in world affairs.

Sincerely, reading the responses of some of the residence APC loyalists here, I have come to the conclusion that some youths are not ready for the future we talked about.

They are just okay with the crumbs that are given to them by the politicians while the politicians kids eat the best food at the table and happy with the feelings that my party is winning.

Sincerely, we are not ready because how can a reasonable person condemn Obi on this?

Nigerians will decides if, crooked decisions taking by their benchwarmers at the national assembly. For me this is more than absurd and corruptible system. They know that, with normal electronic transmission of results most of them won't smell their seats again. We patriotic Nigerians must enforce the best option which is transparent, which is fair to everyone. Electronic transmission of results. Our system is capable of that. This is the will of Nigerians.

Mr. Peter obi. You are too silent. Scream so loud for the world to hear what these bloody incompetent APC fellows are up to. We all know their plans. If they are so confident and think blackmailing and bribing all the governors to port and stand on a stupid mandate will assure them winning 2027 elections then why are they scared to pass the bill?

You have INEC, the army, the DSS, the Police, the NSCDC, the Navy, the Air Force, CBN/NNPC, Federal Allocations, Tax revenues, the Judiciary & 30 whopping governors. Yet, you are afraid of electronic transmission of results.

Master Strategist no trust his Bold Reforms?

You can check moat of my posts about Obi here, I always slam him. And yes, I don't ever want him to rule Nigeria because he is not the one who will fix Nigeria. Always telling lies.

But if you insult him for this, then shame on you. The only weapon we need is the power to vote credible people. Shame on you if you laugh at others complaining about what is going on now. It is not a MUST for your candidate to win by cheating and rigging, but a MUST for Nigeria to be better. This thing will affect your candidate too some day.

Obi, Tinubu, Atiku, Kwankwaso, Osinbajo, Wike, etc. who are contesting or have ruled and failed cannot fix Nigeria. The leader we need is someone who can fix corruption.. And here is one. Electoral corruption. We need to fix it.

Someone is saying the obvious truth you are calling him a loser. Sometimes I wish I can slap some of you via this handle in order to reset your demented brain. What is wrong in having elections result electronically transmitted. Smaller African countries have done it and it worked perfectly. What are you animals scared of. I think say una say Nigerians love una. Non non non nonsense
Re: Peter Obi Reacts To Senate’s Rejection Of E-Transmission Of Results by Image123(m): 6:00am On Feb 06
It is now confirmed that this guy needs urgent help. How can senate make compulsory e-transmission when there's no 100% access to internet all over the country. You want to disenfranchise 50% of voters because there's no internet?
It's like making a law mandating the blind to see.
