OBIDIENT MOVEMENT REJECTS THE NON-PASSAGE OF ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION OF RESULTS;
CALLS FOR A MARCH TO THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

Date to be announced on our channels of communication

February 6, 2026

The Obidient Movement vehemently condemns the Nigerian Senate’s recent decision to reject the mandatory electronic transmission of election results.

This action, which retains a clause in the 2022 Electoral Act allowing for manual collation of results, is a deliberate and unforgivable act of electoral manipulation in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

This decision by the National Assembly represents a direct assault on the foundations of Nigeria’s democracy. By refusing to mandate the electronic transmission of results from polling units to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IREV), the Senate has chosen to institutionalise chaos and opacity, thereby eroding public trust in the electoral process.

This action is a slap in the face of millions of Nigerians who have tirelessly advocated for greater transparency and accountability in our elections.

We vividly recall the turmoil, disputes, and widespread manipulation that characterised the 2023 general elections—events that stemmed directly from the failure to fully implement electronic transmission of results.

Nigerians were fed excuses of a fabricated “glitch” that never existed, while the will of the people was blatantly subverted. This latest move by the Senate only serves to entrench the same systems that enable electoral malpractice.

As the Obidient Movement has consistently maintained:
“This failure to pass a clear safeguard is nothing short of a deliberate assault on Nigeria’s democracy. By rejecting these essential transparency measures, they are eroding the very foundation of credible elections.”
We therefore question the motives of the current leadership:

Does the government exist to ensure order and justice, or to institutionalise chaos?
Is its purpose to serve the people, or to fulfil the sinister ambitions of a privileged few?
While many African nations are embracing technology to strengthen their democracies, Nigeria—the so-called “Giant of Africa”—is shamefully dragging the continent backward.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which controls the National Assembly, has clearly demonstrated its intent to undermine free, fair, and credible elections. It is both ironic and hypocritical for a party that deploys e-registration and electronic processes for its internal affairs to deny Nigerians the same level of transparency in national elections.

We, the Obidient Movement, will not stand idly by while the future of our nation is being mortgaged for the political gain of a privileged few. We call on all Nigerians, civil society organisations, and the international community to join us in resisting this dangerous backward slide.

The criminality witnessed during the 2023 elections will not be tolerated in 2027. Nigerians everywhere must be prepared to rise up, resist, and reject this deliberate act of democratic sabotage, and to legitimately and decisively reclaim our country.

We urge the international community to take note of the groundwork currently being laid for future electoral manipulation in Nigeria.
Accordingly, we hereby call on all Nigerians to join us in a peaceful march to the National Assembly to press our demand:

That both chambers convene an emergency sitting to revisit this critical issue and immediately pass into law the mandatory real-time electronic transmission of election results to INEC’s IREV portal, in line with the clear will of the Nigerian people they represent.
We call on all Nigerians to join us and come out en masse in this struggle to correct this abnormality and change our nation for the better.

A stitch in time saves nine.
A New Nigeria is Possible.

The busy body group. Some of their senators are amongst those who rejected the e transmission bill

Like I have been saying, election rigging don't have much effects with the presidential election as the votes are wide. It's those who are contesting for constituency position that solely rely on rigging

E-Transmission is something within the capacity of Tinubu's Govt to implement, but they lack the Will to do so, obviously because they fear it may work against Tinubu's re-election.

With 30 governors and counting, they are still afraid of going to the ballots. They know what happened in Lagos the last time will be child's play. They will be beaten blue black before 10am on election day.

Master strategist indeed.

Re: Obidients Protest At The National Assembly (Videos) by ChristineC: 9:03am On Feb 07
I think for any Nigerian seeking proper electoral reforms, it's a sensible thing to do.
a country where politicians will be forced to listen and do the will of their constituents must have credible elections, otherwise we will keep seeing ugly relics splash commonwealth on harlots without care.

Anambra distributes 177 vehicles to traditional rulers
Posted by NAN
Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State, on Monday in Awka, distributed one SUV each to the traditional rulers of the 177 communities in the state.

Obi handed over one of the vehicles’ key to the state Chairman of the Traditional Rulers’ Council, Igwe Alfred Achebe, Obi of Onitsha.

He said that the gesture was aimed at helping them run and build better communities, adding that the vehicles would also help the traditional rulers to function effectively.

“If you have better communities, you will have a better Anambra, Anambra today is changing for better and I want this sustained,” the governor said.

“In doing that, the state government and the local government will do what it can to support the building of a better Anambra.”

Achebe said that he was overjoyed because the governor cared about the well-being and welfare of the traditional rulers.

“It is completely unprecedented in Anambra and probably elsewhere in Nigeria,” he said.

“It is a mighty gesture from the governor and for the government of the state to make a distinct impact on the well-being of the traditional rulers in the state.”

According to him, it was one of the several measures the present administration in the state had taken to improve the wellbeing of the traditional rulers.

“We pray that God will give us a successor that will continue from where Obi has left and lift Anambra to the next level.”

NLCreator:
Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, has defended the purchase of sports utility vehicles (SUVs) for members of the national assembly.

There have been reports that the leadership of the 10th national assembly has bought SUVs for all lawmakers.

Each SUV is said to be valued at N160 million.

The LP had asked members of the party in the national assembly to kick against “wastage”.

While responding to questions during a press conference in Abuja on Monday, the former governor of Anambra said the SUVs are not personal cars of the lawmakers, noting that they are for official use.

“Let me start with the issue of Labour Party members in the house. I have actually discussed this issue with them,” Obi said.

“Surprisingly, I can tell you I heard that these vehicles are official cars. They have to use it. It is meant for office.

“So it is not as if it is their vehicle. They said it is official cars and you are meant to use it while you are in the senate.”

Obi also hinted at contesting for the country’s number one position in 2027, adding that Nigeria deserves dedicated and visionary leaders who will lead the country towards a brighter future.

If Electoral results are transmitted, then it means there is democracy. And if there is democracy, then there will be no regional power sharing between the north and the south.
If there is no religional power sharing, then there is no Nigeria.
Because the mind of the average Nigerian is tribalistic
