On February 2, 2026, a blogger known as Joes Media TV (first slide)who was widely recognized for promoting gospel artistes from various church groups, alongside three musicians, was invited by a woman identified as Olanireti Akinbola to perform at a three-day virtual birthday praise event at a studio in Ajah.

Due to the distance between the studio and their homes, they decided to stay overnight at the studio. Tragically, all four individuals were later found dead in their sleep.

Many questions have since arisen regarding the circumstances of their death. Speculations range from possible food poisoning to inhalation of generator fumes that may have been left running overnight. The woman who invited them is nowhere to be found and the studio management has not released any statement

The families of the deceased are demanding for justice and are calling on Nigerians for support. The police have not issued any official statement regarding the incident

Generator fumes are not fun o. Where possible, keep your generator far away. Carbon monoxide from your gen is odourless and colourless. Your blood has the same affinity for carbon monoxide that it does for oxygen. It doesn't know the difference and when carbon monoxide has entered your blood stream, it is pretty hard to dislodge.
Be careful out there.

This is simply and most likely a carbon monoxide poisoning resulting from the generator's exhaust...

Studios are made airtight to keep off random sounds. When CO goes in there's not enough O2 to convert it to CO2.

Haemoglobin has 10x afinity for CO than O2 and even less affinity for CO2. So in a room with the mixture of O2, CO and CO2 the chances of carbon poisoning is considerably higher than thought.

It might be due to suffocation ,I remember when I was hustling and I was squatting in a studio ,no ventilation and the studio was covered with about 4 thick different colours cloth all round for different backgrounds shooting .

Another possibility. Human exhale CO2. When there's power outage the air source like fan or AC is cut off which leads to less O2 and more CO2 which invariably leads to suffocation.

We should always pay attention to our health. Going for medical checkup is very paramount. Eat, Eat, and Relax

Most likely carbon monoxide poisoning from a nearby generator. I can relate. I entered a studio way back to watch a friend record his song. There was no air circulation and their was also a generator running close by. How the others did it, I don't know. But I can testify that I nearly lost control of my bowels and mental coordination. I regained coordination 30 minutes after running out of the studio and never to return there again.

God is to be blamed. They came to praise God. If it was herdsmen everyone would have been screaming, not that it is linked to God all people are saying is rest in peace. We should send our police into heaven to ask questions.
