because you dont follow other sport doesnt mean others dont have interest, come ojueleba and see people training on other sport every morning i did boxing/rugby actively in my younger years some of the guys we do train rugby with went on to represent other countries
I'm not talking about you. Put 100 people then put football, boxing, tennis, track and field, table tennis, basket ball even the rugby and ten you will understand what I am saying

Tennis is a beautiful game I wonder why we do not even have investors in these sectors.

I mean I would pay to go watch these matches.

But seriously we need to cure this country

Hmmmm, I am talking about followership, fans. Larger nigeria fans base even lagos won't follow tennis Like football. Ok let put it this way nigeria is hosting the world cup and also at the same time hosting tennis opens with all. the stars. I can bet you tennis won't have up to 300 people watching it. So it tennis federation that's not trying. They need yo raise more awareness about the game.

He won again some minutes ago while our team doubles also won to put Nigeria 3-1. I think with this results, Nigeria is confirmed for promotion.

There are principles to everything. You can't be a corrupt nation with blatant disregard and respect for human lives and lack of empathy and develop. Never.....

Until we change our orientation and behaviour as a people and as a nation...then, we can start thinking of development.....

The Davis Cup is the World Cup of tennis.
Thanks for sharing this Naptu2.

I wasn't aware of this.

Brings back memories of Nduka "the duke" Odizor, in my view Nigeria's best tennis player of all time.

Also, memories of Deacon Ayo Ositelu and Chuka Momah's coverage of tennis on NTA.

Yes, Chuka Momah was more associated with boxing but I think he also discussed Tennis.

I hope we can begin our Tennis resurgence with this.

May 2026 be the year!

Yes, a very beautiful and interesting sport. I cannot forget the Wimbledon final between Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer that lasted for more than four hours. The tension was high as the atmosphere was electric. It made me fall in love with the game.

Chai! I don dey old o shocked shocked

For us to have a thriving tennis scene, the country has to be prosperous and safe. Prosperity will lead to safety over time and better behaviour, as even football attendees can get bellicose at times.
