The proponents for the real-time transmission of votes and results right from the polling units are not prepared to listen to alternative viewpoints. They wish to virtually hold the Senate at gunpoint into adopting the real-time transmission method irrespective of the envisaged and likely problems. One's hope is that when things go south due to the confusion that are bound to arise in the 2027 general elections, those insisting on having their way should hold themselves accountable and not the Senate or the INEC. For now, let's await the outcome of the Senate emergency meeting tomorrow, Tuesday. @hotseat |

oz4real83:This is y we are saying the opposition is not serious. By now, the likes of Atiku and Peter Obi should be planning protests, just like Tinubu and Buhari did during Jonathan. All they do is make posts on X that have no effect. |

I can’t reconcile the bragging that 2027 is in the bag and the outright fear of compulsory realtime transmission of results with geolocation and timestamps. These lots are irredeemable l. |

Antichristian2:When I did my voters registration, which was about 13 to 15 years ago, INEC had laptop power banks that they used for the voters registration. This is 2026, and ure making silly excuse about electricity. For network, there's no where in the news where masts were destroyed in these so-called 9 states. Also you can't say people in these places do not make calls. Thesame bandits who cause the insecurity make posts on social media. It is same network they use in making their cordinated attacks. Abi is it juju that's giving them network connectivity? |

Nteogwuija:pdp and Jonathan then were democratic. They didn’t send thugs to distrupt their protest or cause environmental breakdown and blaming it to APC. I’m very sure you now know what evil APC can do if that’s a nation wide protest in this manner?? |

Thundafireseun:If I believe my party has done well for the country and we have improved the economy and security and improved the standard of living of Nigerians, they why should I be afraid of a process that encourages free and fair elections Except you and APC knows that they have failed and you are trying to subvert the will of the people by using biro and tipex to rearrange results Pls explain to me how transmission of results in real time is tantamount to shooting one in the leg |

Racoon:This was how APC members of the National Assembly fought against electronic transfer of results before the 2023 general elections. Why are they afraid of a transparent election? The other time when every other format failed, they introduced glitch to the IREV. If the people vote against you, is that the end of life? The rigging of the 2027 elections have started with the rejection of electronic transfer of results. How long can we continue like this? |

anonimi:As you have asked for it, now this is it "Recall that during the clause-by-clause consideration of the Electoral bill, the Senate, presided over by Akpabio, adopted a motion moved by Senate Chief Whip Tahir Monguno, APC, Borno North and seconded by the Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, APC, Kano North, to reject the proposed Section 60(3)." https://www.nairaland.com/8614880/how-3-southern-senators-scuttled#138408839 |
