This is what it means to lead. Electronic accreditation via BVAS, voting and timely transmission of election results from IREV to INEC secured and retrievable server is a must.

Most personal details information, banking, education exams, govt processes are now done electronically within secure servers power by TELECOS. Though no system is 100% foolproof, electronic elections have had proven success in UI, Estonia, Namibia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and the last US elections. Nigeria can't afford to remain behind.

The electoral, democratic and constitutional processes needs to be bettered with or without their limitations. True democracy starts from a credible electoral system. The only people kicking against this development are the anti-democratic elements.

The right result must be announced. Maybe video evidence of election conduct at polling unit and video evidence of result announcement.

But then all this just make election expensive. There is a need to rebuild trust in the system.

Now. PETER is talking. I don't believe in him, but if he can lead this protest and fight like a lion, I may consider voting for him.

All I want is this thing to be passed. Peter himself knows he will be voted out even if he wins and he doesn't perform (which I don't see him do...cos he just doesn't have it in him), but just for fighting for this....he has my vote if he is succesful. What's so difficult with eTransmission of result? They just want an easy opportunity to rig. We all must resist this and ensure eTransmission of result is a must!

I used to be against those calling for electronic transmission of result until I read a particular thread on this forum. From there I concluded that the lawmakers have no reason standing against it. Using poor network as excuse is not a genuine reason. 👇

If you sends a data/collated results to the internet via the BVAS it will remain unaltered irrespective of the availability of network service and such data will be retrieved immediately the holder of the BVAS gets to an area where there is network coverage

GSM penetration is almost 100%. BTW, the transmission operation can still be initiated in offline mode and updates the irev as soon as network is restored.

Your comment tells me INEC is doing a poor job at mass education and explaining the way this system works. You must not have network at the time the results are transmitted. It can be stored in the device until there is network.
There is no difference between this and taking a piece of paper to the collation center. We can even decide to not use network. Just take your device to the collation center and the results gets uploaded automatically. This avoids the changing of results on a piece of paper. Once the result is entered, it cannot be changed because it’s stored in the device. Network or no network.

My Conclusion:
In case the Senate refuse to bow down to people's agitation, we should not forget that the existing electoral law does not stop INEC from adopting e-transmission. INEC can still go ahead and adopt it for 2027 elections with or without any amendment to the existing law. BTW, kudos to those who replied me without throwing any insults or banters. This is what we have been asking for. It is operation rig and die. They're taking advantage of his quiet nature and there are limits to how much a person can take. This man has huge followers and only a tweet from him would have shut down this country during the last election but he didn't allow emotions over logic. Millions of Nigerians say enough is enough.

Just give the irev legal framework is all that's causing this rancour, court can't keep rejecting technology deployed by inec because it isn't part of our law.
Any technology deployed by inec to aid election credibility must pass the legal test.

E transmission of results is a must,the national assembly must make it mandatory.
