The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has finally released the timetable for the 2027 General Elections, and it's packed with crucial dates you need to know. Election Dates: - Presidential and National Assembly Elections: Saturday, February 20, 2027 - Governorship and State Assembly Elections: Saturday, March 6, 2027 Campaign Periods: - Presidential and National Assembly Elections: - November 18, 2026 - February 19, 2027 - Governorship and State Assembly Elections: December 15, 2026 - March 5, 2027 OTHER KEY ACTIVITIES: Continuous Voter Registration (CVR): April 2026 - January 2027 Submission of Candidate Lists: October 1-31, 2026 Publication of Final Candidate List: November 15, 2026 Party Primaries: July 1 - September 30, 2026. Racoon:It is easier to manipulate electronic voting than manual voting. If the government or the opposition get hold of the source code then the result can be easily manipulated. For manual manipulation there is alot of explaining to do. Infact in Ondo state LP was declared winner because forensic assessment of paper ballots showed that a single individual thumprinted multiple ballot papers for PDP and the court considered those invalid. 3 Likes |

IgOga:Most personal details information, banking, education exams, govt processes are now done electronically within secure servers power by TELECOS. Though no system is 100% foolproof, electronic elections have had proven success in UI, Estonia, Namibia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and the last US elections. Nigeria can't afford to remain behind. The electoral, democratic and constitutional processes needs to be bettered with or without their limitations. The only people kicking against this development are the anti-democratic elements. |

If anybody accepts the presidential election/national assemblies be conducted first no way for HE Peter Obi,let start with governorships/ state assemblies elections,any discerning LAWYER in support of good governance should approach the court,starting with presidential/national assemlies is not constitutional. |

It's a recipe for disaster if electronic voting and result transmission is made mandatory in a country like Nigeria where so many things could go wrong on that day. I'm sure the headless mob knows this but they're just preparing the grounds for dispute after they lose the elections as usually |

During the last governorship election held in Anambra state, the results were transmitted electronically on real time and we did not wait for eyeneck before we knew the results and outcome of the election. This is what we want in the presidential election! |
