Popular South-East News blog, Igbere TV, has announced in the last hour that contrary to expectations in some quarters, sit at home observed in the South-East for the release of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has continued

Igbere tv reports that Schools, markets and banks have shut in Aba, Onitsha and Umuahia

In a major blow to Governor Soludo, traders have locked up their shops and snubbed the Governor again.

They can try going into people's houses to drag them out. Sit at home is going to be very hard to stop

There is no sit at home in Anambra and Enugu. I don't know of Abia.

Injustice fuels rebellion. This issue is never going away. All Nnamdi Kanu have ever said about the Nigerian situation turned out true. Bandits are still on a sweeping frenzy through the south while the obsession is those who foresaw the evil and said it as it is.

Don't forget: TRADERS WORK SATURDAYS!!!
One-day weekend is inhumane!

In short Igbos have decided they like the three-day weekends they've been enjoying (two days for traders).
Even if Kanu were released tomorrow it would continue.
Ironically the rest of the country may decide to join in. Who no like better thing grin

A truly conquered people. The level of gullibility is outstanding. What a pity.
It is NOT cowardice at all. The human being truly NEEDS a three-day weekend (2 days for traders). The.weekend ends too quickly when there is so much social and societal engagements to get done
P1PrinceKT:
Can they add with Tuesday for this protest?
Nope. That'll be too much. The human being needs life-work balance. 3-day weekend is right. 2 days is two short, 4 days too long

BondRiv:
No one will free him. He is serving his deserved sentence.
The sit-at-home is no longer about MNK. It is about a people having tasted 3-day weekends (2 days for traders) and have decided they love it. Life has to be more than work!

A friend is presently in Onitsha and did a video call and the area was busy. I don't think this news is authentic or captures the real situation on ground. OP should have made a video and not sending old pics

I like the level of their compliance but it would be better if the all the markets in Igbo land remains close till their saviour is released from the incarceration, they don't contribute something meaningful to the economy growth of Nigeria but they rather reap from where they didn't soul
