Unfaized:is this your Haisic? I guess you stay in a big house, I’m sure as hell these fans are loud as Bleep.

dollarnaira:this fans are 2 powerful, 12w each, total of 24w for just the fans.

fuckboys:Oh no. It's the other grey abi purple type. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by fuckboys: 7:18pm On Feb 09 |
Unfaized:I just wish I can return this back. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by fuckboys: 7:33pm On Feb 09 |
Unfaized:. I noticed the noise reduce only when you turn the inverter off and turn it on again. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Unfaized: 7:47pm On Feb 09 |
fuckboys:I see... Mine is by a very large window that gets enough cool air naturally so I guess it also plays a major role. Infact in the past while using submersible 1.5hp the fan noise usually comes up, but after I cleaned up the vents you can barely hear it while pumping water. Maybe the grey type handles more than the white one, who knows. Other users need to comment sha. Meanwhile get the brushless fans to see if there's improvement. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by fuckboys: 7:56pm On Feb 09 |
Unfaized:I'll bring down the inverter on Saturday and take the fan to arena. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by fuckboys: 7:57pm On Feb 09 |
Gshems:I will do that on Saturday, I don't have time during weekdays. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 7:59pm On Feb 09 |
Seunmuham:na you dey overComplicate things trying to follow the crowd For such requirement that closes by 5pm or thereAbout, the following once again should be a good enough start; 2pcs USEd 350w solar panels = 40,000 * 2 = 80,000 naira USEd 24v 3.5kva or 3kva (sachet or hybrid or standard) inverter = 130,000 naira USEd charge controller (only when not using hybrid inverter)= 60,000 naira PV cable (poor man's own) = 20,000 naira Brand new lithium based battery or USEd leadAcid battery 24v = 300,000 naira installation costs = As the spirit leads going 12v would only save you few pennies now BUT cost you more later if you could afford 4pcs of solar panels, better. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 8:04pm On Feb 09 |
fuckboys:why not go there with the entire unit. |

osayuwamwen:I am already in talk with someone heavenlybangs recommended. It’s good to read actual users experiences. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by favouredbymercy: 8:15pm On Feb 09*. Modified: 8:47pm On Feb 09 |
HeavenlyBang:Dollarnaira handled everything * 20ah Cells * Mini 4s Active Balancer * 12.1v Buck Converter * Box * DC Meter An important thing Dollarnaira did, was connect the 12v cable direct from the buck converter, so it is super effecient (straight DC to DC) |

favouredbymercy:When you posted the pics of the unit I saw one sachet inverter by the side, is it part of the unit? How do you charge it? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Seunmuham: 8:31pm On Feb 09 |
bassdow:This 3 and 4 panels won't work for the particular set up due to space constraints. Recent studies of similar Businesses shows that they closes by 10pm . I used I'll go for used sachet inverter and controller. Do you have solid link? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by favouredbymercy: 8:45pm On Feb 09 |
CuteMaro:It was built as a battery backup for the router. The sachet inverter has a 10amp inbuilt charger, that is what would be used to charge it. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 8:48pm On Feb 09 |
Seunmuham:wait Ooo, no be you talk say una operation na mostly morning and afternoon and closes around 5pm abi 6pm ? When e change to 10pm again ? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 8:53pm On Feb 09 |
Seunmuham:I quoted 2 Solar panels and only suggested you could optionally make it 3 or 4. if going for more than 2pcs, then make it 2pcs of 550w but issue might be space as small panels gives room for small space but with bigger sized panels, they need space which the shop's roof might not have. in other words, if the roof has enough space, and you are willing to spend more than 80,000 naira on solar panels, then go for 2pcs of 500w solar panels else remain with 2pcs. Another is ease of handling |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Seunmuham: 8:53pm On Feb 09 |
bassdow:Today I walka watch other people, ask questions, the biggest shot on the block closes by 10pm. The other lady lives in premises ( her dad owns the building) she closes late. So 5pm no go work. Boss |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 8:58pm On Feb 09 |
Seunmuham:you need understand we work with what you give us. So if that requirement changes, you tell us; not sound like it's being imposed on you. either way, if you had to walk about before getting such information, tells you guys might not have done enough feasibility research to clearly know what's required. Since it's your sister that's gonna manage the business, be sure it's mutual so you don't spend money (even if it's hers) unnecessarily. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by capnies: 9:05pm On Feb 09 |
bassdow:20k cable? How.many yards from the roof to inside the house 6mm. Remember red n black |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 9:14pm On Feb 09 |
capnies:in that case, you wouldn't be spending up to 10,000 naira sef since it's a (small) shop. the price I quoted is max for a full complete bundle; and it's not even red and black, not even copper but Aluminium. if he has money, and has finished getting a quality battery, He could now spend that on copper cable. Mind you, there are lots of incomplete cables out there; they reduce the tickness of the wire, then increase thickness of the wrapper to make it still look complete. Let's not talk much about quality. for such small setup, no need spending much when there's something that would work just as good |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by capnies: 9:18pm On Feb 09 |
Seunmuham:A 6000mah phone battery approximately 25w, 20 phones is only 500w and that’s if the 20 phones are plugged at once. A laptop 65w 10 laptops approximately 650w if plugged at once Total 1150w A 3000w satchet inverter has 1500w continuous power and should handle that perfectly. Except it is possible to charge upto 50 phones at once 50x25w=1150w then 10x65w laptops @650w plus others, but is it possible. |

fuckboys:This annoying fan noise was what made me dump my welion inverter. It was so annoying, gosh!! |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 6:35am On Feb 10 |
fuckboys:One thing I have come to realize is; na mostly the cheap inverters and/ or charge controllers that even use Fans to begin with. and na the someWhat CHEAPer ones dey over make noise |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by fuckboys: 6:51am On Feb 10 |
bassdow:I just don't know what's so difficult for china to manufacture real quiet silent inverters They have no IP rating so technically they are meant to be installed inside our living spaces, they all ought to very quiet. If you see as this inverter dey vex me now eh,, I swear my bread self better pass this one. Low quality scrap. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by dollarnaira(m): 7:29am On Feb 10*. Modified: 7:55am On Feb 10 |
@Seunnuham In science, theory and practical are 2 different things. Get your proposed Satchet inverter, battery size of your choice and 1 550w Jinko or better alternative. Fund is difficult to get oo. In charging generally, power drop as time passes and not all phones have fast charging features. At 70 to 80% charge, current usually drop significantly. Not all phones will be brought to charge from 0%. Start first, and see how it goes. You will determine how many phones to charge and whether or not to add powerbanks. AVOID LAPTOPS for now. USE YOUR SENSE |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by dollarnaira(m): 7:54am On Feb 10 |
fuckboys:Again the fan is the problem not the inverter. GET A QUIET FAN. If your night load is less especially at 20% of the capacity, a fan is not needed. But fear won't let many of you guys to experiment. You can partially, open up the inverter for passive cooling with the fan fully disconnected for night loads of say less than 100w. THE INVERTER WILL NOT BURN. My back up 800w Inverter board is inside a plastic box without a fan at less load ( 2/3 fans, 5 bulbs and charging). I have deliberately turn my sumo without a fan for some minutes. The inverter shut down itself aka overheating protection. |
