Borno Police Constable Returns ₦2.6 Million Mistakenly Credited To His Account by Savageman247(op): 9:16pm On Feb 09
A police constable serving in Borno State, Alhaji Muhammad, has earned widespread commendation after returning the sum of ₦2.6 million that was mistakenly transferred into his bank account.

According to the officer, he immediately took steps to ensure the money was returned upon discovering the error, stressing that his decision was guided by personal integrity and professional responsibility.

“I am a policeman, and I know the type of negative notion a lot of people have about the police. That is why I refused to claim the money,” he was quoted as saying.

The Borno State Police Command confirmed the development, describing the constable’s action as a clear demonstration of honesty, discipline, and respect for the values of the Nigeria Police Force.

News of the incident has since sparked positive reactions from members of the public, many of whom have praised the officer for setting a commendable example and helping to rebuild public trust in law enforcement.

Observers say the gesture highlights the importance of integrity within the police force and serves as a reminder that professionalism and accountability remain core principles expected of officers entrusted with public service.

CBN go take the money. They are banking of you not to escalate the matter and as long as it remains in that account frozen, the money belongs to the bank.

You can go to court or take the matter to CBN
