FG Begins Implementation Of Signed FG-ASUU Agreement Under President Tinubu by ryloy(op): 9:06pm On Feb 09
On
behalf of the Federal Government, I am pleased to announce that we have commenced the implementation of key welfare components of our renegotiated agreement with ASUU, specifically the 40% increase in the Consolidated Academic Allowance (CAA) for ASUU members, effective 1st January 2026.

Reaffirming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR’s commitment to the well-being of academic staff and the stability of our university system.

We watch to see how bitter the "finishing specialist" and his hóè..bidiénts horde would sound about this news. Same Gbajue under whom Anambra University went on a six month strike and same man who refused to conduct LG elections for 7years and 9months, diverting all LG allocations into his private pocket.

Such an undemocratic fraud who does not believe in democratic process when he was Governor is now protesting over an electoral process today, just for the sake of deceiving his gullible supporters as usual. God indeed is a patient God.

I wish we had China or North Korea treatment, this fraud from Agulu would have been served tey tey.

Asiwaju Jagaban

He mentioned that 4 years schooling will be 4 years schooling and that promise is being fulfilled.

God bless the president. I hope this stop ASUU constant strike for years to come and subsequent government after 2031 should ensure this continues.

This is interesting
But, is it only ASUU members that are in the university workforce?
What about NAAT, NASU and SSANU?
You think those ones will watch ASUU collect increments and keep quiet?
Out of four Unions, you only picked one out, because they're the ones that makes the loudest noise?
FG never ready...

At least we won't be seeing no more ASUU strike in the next campaign...

Tunubu should pls consider the pay of our security agencies too as a matter of urgency......their pay is too poor......nothing stops and entry level police corporal from earning at least 200k monthly......it's really annoying seeing police men in uniform begging for money on the roads.

Una no dey tire? It's not like ASUU was by themselves and FG suddenly decided to do these things. If others want something similar that's reasonable, they know how to go about it.

This habit of projecting and creating imaginary problems is very worrisome.

First, that money is meant for conferences, books, journal publication, data etc
Secondly, when FG approved 30k hazard allowance for virtually all the non teaching staff, the academic staff never for one day complained about it.
Thirdly, when ASUU embarked on a two weeks warning strike few months ago, some of your colleagues were on various social media platforms mocking ASUU members on whether they can withstand 'no work, no pay'.

Instead of complaining, just pray that current negotiations between your union leaders and the FG will be fruitful. Simple!

Your rant doesn't make sense at all.
Firstly, hazard allowance was peculiar to NAAT members because they work in the laboratories and workshops, but the non-teaching staff used greed and "I want it too" to hijack and compel government to give them too. Does it make sense for someone who work in the office under A.C to also be collecting the same amount of hazard allowance like someone who works in the laboratories and workshops and is exposed to different hazards and dangers?
You mentioned conferences and journals, is it only ASUU members that do that? Don't laboratory and research staff do it too? Some of you are just greedy and unreasonable, you always want all to yourselves, this is why peace and cooperation is far from the system.
The 40% is clearly not for any allowance, it's not specific for anything, but on total present salary. The only specific one is for the professors.
Re: FG Begins Implementation Of Signed FG-ASUU Agreement Under President Tinubu by ogascomax: 9:18am On Feb 10
This government should easily get that done. Inflation has affected that agreement now so there is no praise to get it done now. When that agreement was signed our national budget was not up to 5 trillion naira but now we are talking about 54 trillion naira for our national budgets.

leave them na! Who doesn't know that all these gimmicks is just to score political cheap points against 2027? They simply want to win university lecturers over (so they can be used for the usual) while neglecting sister unions.

You complained that I'm ranting but you ended up doing the same 'ranting'. There's no need working yourself up over nothing. Your union leaders are already in dialogue with the FG. Just pray that the outcome will yield good fruits.
