Hi Nairalanders.
I purchased a fairly used Huawei phone, wiped it, installed WhatsApp and I logged in my details.

I bought the phone purposefully because of WhatsApp and Telegram. To my greatest shock, I was logged out of WhatsApp when on live chat with one of my clients.
On the App, I requested for a Review, the Account was restored but only to be blocked again 2 days later.

I was so devastated thinking it was a direct WhatsApp ban for violating their terms. To my greatest surprise, my phone number have been blocked from using WhatsApp on any phone at all. I sent several messages to the WhatsApp Support , but the problem persists.

After making many efforts with little result to back my efforts. I got another line which I slotted in the same Huawei phone, only for the new line to be blocked from using WhatsApp.

The whole thing got me frustrated and I remembered Nairalanders are brilliant.

The IP address of the phone has been blacklisted by WhatsApp. If you keep opening an account on the phone using the same number, the number would be banned permanently by WhatsApp.

Fairly used Huawei and Oppo mostly have this WhatsApp issues. What I did then was uninstall WhatsApp, then reinstalled it, installed a container/virtual environment app like parallel space, and dual space, then installed WhatsApp on the virtual environment and it worked.

But those virtual app annoying ads fit make you vex use Ur phone stone wall, and they always run in the background which leads to battery draining fast I gave the phone out later on.

I once bought a foreign used a phone that had that issue until I sold it out.

The thing is ' most of these foreign used phones have been used by fraudsters abroad which led to WhatsApp blacklisting the Phone's MAC address.

The best thing is to stop registering your main line on that phone's WhatsApp or that line stands the risk of being banned perpetually.

The ONLY options you have are:
(1). Sell off the phone.
(2). Gift it to a loved one.
(3). Use it for 'making & receiving' calls only.

The choice is yours.

No problem we are in this together.

I am even scared to reply message from unsaved contact because asap… you have been blocked

Just buy a pink pouch with flowers and shine shine design for the phone, locate one OS near your hood and gift her the phone.
Make sure you reserve some change to buy condoms and some few jekomo.

This is annoying but has remedy
Make money buy another phone
Check profile u can still use that phone to make small money

Thank God it is just WhatsApp ban. Make person no use money buy problem.

Stay away from China used phones, E get why.

Op, stop logging in again with that phone if they restore it, before they'll ban your number 4ever.

the phone Ip has been banned...
if you like put 1000 sim they would ban all of them...
return the phone get another phone and mail whats app to getting your number working back

I can't relate.
I advise people to buy these chinko phones than opting for foreign used phones.

Get an Oale phone and rest.

Op sorry, the phone was used for fraudulent activities, better sell the phone, one of the reasons I don't buy used phone

When you all say the phones IP address, do you means its Mac address or IMEI? IP addresses are assigned by a router or network provider (from the small IT wey I sabi) so can you kindly clarify what address is banned?

WhatsApp has a way of crawling your chat automatically when someone reports you. Their crawler look into the conversation and if they find anything like swear and curse words or something that looks like spamming or scamming, they ban you.

most of these chinko used phones are not even running official android, i mean stock android. I use oppo i bought as a used phone and have never experienced any issue. the only issue i had was with tiktok, which was later resolved after i updated my android from 13 to 14, and updated tiktok. When buying used chinese phones, make sure they come with the official stock android, original android, not a modified one

Don't sell the phone. Destroy it , buy a new one, count your loss and move on.

Since it fairly, maybe yahoo boys don use the phone do sege banza ...stop buying anything used ,those boys changing their phone for some fresh loggin isn't helping
