“After Goodluck Jonathan made that call to my dad to congratulate him on his victory as Nigeria’s next President, I used to receive up to 2,000 calls a day from different people.

The calls would start coming in as early as 4 a.m. — from old classmates, acquaintances, extended family relatives, former maids, and servants who had once worked for the Buhari family at some point.

There were also callers with bogus, untraceable explanations, but my assistant would simply come up with polite excuses to end those conversations quickly!

But the moment my dad left power and handed the baton to His Excellency Bola Tinubu, the calls dropped dramatically to about 100 a day.

After my dad was buried, they reduced even further to around 20 daily — usually just from siblings and business associates.

Yusuf received 2000 calls PD during his father's active years in power.

I can only imagine how many calls SEYI would be recieving now that his father Tinubu is still actively in power.........maybe 500 calls per day

Allow the snake oil merchants to continue to spew fakes. Yusuf Buhari never made this statement and never will. Even during his father's tenure, anyone calling Yusuf for any political favour would have only been wasting his time. He was not garrulous and all-over-the-place like the son of the current occupant.

That's how life is. It's nobody's fault

That's the irony of life. I went visiting a once very influential man while he was still in service last month. He's my village man so I paid a courtesy visit to him in is hotel as I was home. Where are the escorts, sycophants, patchers, even kinsmen trying to get favours..... All gone. Before then when he's home and you go near is house or hotel, you can count numerous Hilux. Even on his mother's burial while he was still in service, high ranking officers shamelessly turned to waiters just to please the senior man but now........ It's all gone. Just his uniformed Driver and a attached guard due to the rank he retired with. No more all those falmbouyancy. compound was almost empty I doubt the community was even aware their once favourite son is around. Mehnnnnn life.


I also remember when Sambo was vice president. If you're going to Kasua from karji, you will notice a blockage immediately after the bridge. It was blocked as no irregular passage is allowed around is house even when he's in Abuja or far from Kaduna. Go there today, Na Gateman you go see Dey buy jeda from street hawkers.

This is why i can relate with those wealthy people that some accuse of being ‘selfish, mean or introverted’! They have enough experience of life to know that when you’re wealthy, all the people (both relatives and acquaintances) that flock around you and stick to you like glue….up to 90% are not genuine and are only around you because of what they stand to gain financially or materially! If you’re rich or well connected, the best friends and trusted people to have around you are those that knew you, showed love or helped you and showed interest when you were nothing!

I don't think you can compare Yusuf buhari with seyi Tinubu.Personality wise they are different, Yusuf has a reserved personality while seyi is outgoing.No one can deny seyi is using the influence of his father's current position to build his own profile and strong connection now and when his father is out of the scene.I think he might still be a force to reckon with even after his pop.
