Why is asking price 8m for Naija used if it doesn't have second hand value?

Many people are not fully aware, you'll get to know how second hand value works when u are selling and not buying....

A friend of mine bought a similar car for around 6.9 million for Bolt driving, the driver got a better job and left the car, to sell the car became an issue... People were pricing it 2.5 -3 million....

But if it's Toyota product, you may even end up selling it more than the amount u bought it, and Ur Toyota cannot stay in a car stand for more than 2 weeks without u getting a good offer...

Lastly, where I'm working currently, their Hyundai car fuel pump failed, till now they haven't seen it anywhere in Abuja to buy, including their Hyundai office... They advised they we should order from Lagos....

So those are the few things I check when buying cars, especially as a first timer.

Used it few years after it was launched, it's a cool ride....tell the mechanic to check the gear properly to make sure its selecting perfectly.....in fact, I can't point out any major issue when I used it.....maybe because I didn't use it for long, but I still maintain that its a budget friendly car for Nigerians that love anything Toyota pass their lives lolz

8m too cost for Naija used. Toks is not more than 9m.

Very sweet car, it’s my current car too. Make sure to check all fluids are intact, check the head gasket make sure it’s in good condition, if not, you’ll have over heating problems. There’s a simple way to check the head gasket condition through the radiator (google it).
Also have your sensors checked and cleaned if necessary; 02 sensors, camshaft sensor and crankshaft sensor. Otherwise, enjoy your ride.

All the Nigeria used cars I have driven, both the Benz I bought in Lagos and the Voltron I bought in Benin city, them showed me pepper and I vowed never to ever buy Nigeria used cars again

Go to a busy road and count 20 to 50 cars that'll pass by, then take note of how many Hyundai Vs Toyota. You'll have your answer on what to go for.

Engine problem


It would embarrass you on the way and it would take like an hour to get it working after sudden engine shut down.

You stop at a market to buy food stuff. Then went back to start it to leave, boom! It won't start.

8M is too much for it in Lagos and it's even a naija used car. Don't buy. Go for Toyota Camry/Corolla instead. Ask your cousin if water drips from the exhaust pipe during first start. If yes, that's a very good sign that the engine is healthy and can carry you for the next five or more years. If no, don't buy even if you wanted to settle for it. Forget about the clean body. The logo is even gone. That's a sign that it could be overused.

well i am glad to inform NIGERIANS there is LIFE outside TOYOTA, i have used both VCAMRY of 2 diff GENERATIONS, i have used LEXUS HYBRID as well.. i sold cars for 8 years as well, so i am SURE of this game.

e be like say you dont know those toks are from CO PART as well and e better to buy some 9ja used than toks...

CAR BUYING is a LUCK if its not a BRAND NEW with WARRANTY ( cos they RECALL) then who told you there are not useless TOKS too, get a car that comes from POLAND and some, they wreck cars than 9ja people, in UK here i trust IAA/ SYNETIQ for clean deal and also buying from the CAR BRAND DEALER either A NEW or USED, because 1. warranty 2. Guaranty !

It's a good ride, it is very reliable, it is the most common car in Arab countries, it is durable, with silent noise, when engine is running,

It's a great car if well used. Being Nigerian used car doesn't really matter as long as it's well maintained. This is Hyundai sonata 2012/13. Very rugged car and often comes with Gas Direct Injection engine, GDI, this is a great engine but very sensitive. I have been using the same type of car for many years and never disappoint. Get a good mechanic or if you know much about car, go check and test drive it yourself..... It's a great car to have.... Also negotiate it down a little bit, maybe like 6.5 to 7M....

Avoid Naija used Hyundai that car brainbox is above 500k,a client bought 500k few years ago and it is very selective.They look simple but parts are expensive and ECU can easily tossed with kazeem wrong connection

It's reputed to have engine problems after a particular mileage so engine ain't robust.
