The doctor is probably looking at it from the perspective of bringing another dwarf into the world and the consequences for the child in this Internet era where she can be bullied and made to feel worthless. Something like the AS marrying AS and the attendant risks.

Dwarfism can be detected but can't be corrected in the womb. It can only be detected if the do ivf and check for abnormalities before putting the baby into the womb. That one is very very expensive. The other alternative is when they detect the baby is a dwarf in the womb they abort it. But that is very difficult moral choice but cheaper.

The doctor had your best interest at heart when he gave you that advise
