🇷🇺 Russia’s energy company Gazprom Neft has announced the discovery of a new oil field on the Yamal Peninsula, with estimated geological reserves of 55 million tons of crude oil - a significant boost to Russia’s Arctic energy ambitions.

The newly identified field is located in the Arctic zone of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area and has been named after prominent geologist Alexei Kontorovich, The Caspian Post reports.

Company CEO Alexander Dyukov emphasized that the Arctic and Eastern Siberia still hold vast untapped potential.

“Both in the Arctic zone and in Eastern Siberia, as well as in many other regions, there are still opportunities to discover new large and super-large hydrocarbon fields,” Dyukov said, adding that Gazprom Neft will continue active geological exploration across all areas of operation.

NATO heavily armed Ukraine for 10 years before the war broke out. Zelensky himself admitted it.

Bad news for Nigeria.

Any country that announces new oil.wells , be it Russia , USA , etc ..that means a fall in the oil price

That's bad news for nations like Nigeria whose main source of revenue for the budget is oil.Low oil prices means lower revenue and more borrowing which means more debt on our heads

At least Russia has a diversified economy, as do the other big nations. If oil prices crash , they would be all right. Your country doesn't. You better not rejoice.

When more resources are discovered it's always bad news for most third world countries who need prices of resources they sell to be high enough for them to even survive. Already a lot of countries in Africa are suffering because price of oil, minerals and agric products are always too low for them to have a good life

See how American overproduction of cotton affects other countries that produce cotton. Hint..it is not good. And to make matters worse , the USA subsidizes it's cotton farmers to compensate them for lower International prices, which incentives them to produce more. Countries that are in Africa producing cotton suffer more

And the poverty fuels security and other issues in our country. Well well.

All of you America and Russia and even china fans, those countries no dey send una. If they want to crash the price of oil for them to keep their people.happy, they will do it and we can't do anything about it.

Already Russia is selling oil below the international price which means that the international prices will eventually have to come down. New discoveries makes the matter worse.

At least this should hopefully force us to be an industrial economy eventually. Oil no go save us. Like a Japanese delegation told us indirectly some years ago, use your resources to develop industrial goods the world needs. That's the mark of a sane economy.
