This would be as a result of lack of proper maintenance........ I boarded an Arik flight from Abuja - Lagos in 2024....... NEVER AGAIN......

That area operates on a high level suction pressure that can suck even human being and doesn't need any obstruction for maximum suction power the engine needs to operate. Putting a net would affect the engine efficiency and may create another form of hazard.


Also putting net in front of the engine of an aeroplane to prevent bird strike can lead to metal debris entering the engine and causing a more fatal engine failure than the bird strike being prevented

Doesn't work that way. The mesh will create a resistance.
