I think FAAN and cargo clearing agents have come to an agreement. Because I read an article yesterday that said cargo bay was getting full.
To be honest, FAAN didn't try: they have kept clearing rates at N7 for almost 2 decades and then decided to change it to N25 rapidly. They should have changed it to N10 and gradually by end of the year hit N25, giving operators enough time to inform their clients that delivery fees will go up.

Agreement was reached on Monday.

“The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has reached an agreement with Customs Licensed Cargo Agents operating at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, on the proposed review of cargo port charges.”

“The agreement was achieved at a stakeholders’ meeting held on Monday, 9th February 2026, at the MMIA Terminal 2 Conference Room, chaired by the Director of Cargo Development and Services, Mr. Lekan Thomas.”

“After constructive deliberations, both parties agreed on a revised port charge of N15.00 per kilogramme, representing a compromise on their earlier proposed N20.00/kg and an upward review of the existing N7.00/kg.”

my recent temu order was stuck on export custom clearance success for quite some time too, but later moved its now in the country going through customs, for aliexpress own tho, idk yet, but both are expensive and are priority for me.

I am in the same shoe with you. I paid $9 for shipping fee and they also gave it to NIPOST. I have already threatened the seller that if my item doesn't land within 3 days, I am requesting for a full refund because I didn't ask him to use a terrible shipping line after paying $9. the delivery timeline that was quoted for me will elapse in 3 days and I am patiently waiting to file for a refund. I no send him papa.

I ordered for a smartphone display. It arrived quite fast, but the display turned out to be defective. If you connect it to the board, it comes on. But once you try to put the display in it's position, it won't come on again until you bring it back out. Funny enough, it the screen is on while you are putting it, it won't go off. But once it turns off, it will not turn on until you separate the screen from the frame. This basically means that the flex cable has issues that only appears when the cable is flexed enough.
I immediately opened a dispute and made a video of the issue as much as possible and uploaded as evidence. I also sent the video to the seller.
Oga seller tried to buy time and said I should take it to a technician. Ah! I told him I am a technician.
AliExpress offered a refund of 20% of the price. I refused.
Seller then contacted me and said I should make a video showing the screen in details and then I should destroy the screen in the video. This is to make sure I'm not trying to get full refund when the screen is still usable. If he sees the video, he will approve full refund for me.
I agreed and destroyed the screen in the video since it is basically useless.
After seeing the video, oga then said, "now close the dispute so I can approve your full refund".
Ah! Close dispute? I then asked him how I will get the full refund if I close the dispute. Dude stopped responding.
In case you don't know, dispute is the ONLY way you can get your money back from AliExpress. Any other promises from any seller na scam.
As oga refused to respond naah, I took a screenshot of where he said I should destroy the screen and added it to my dispute as evidence. I also uploaded the video of me destroying the video to the dispute.
2 days later, AliExpress gave me full refund without return.

The biggest mistake you can make on AliExpress is to listen to a seller and close your dispute. If you do that, your money is gone. Any promises he is making should be offered in the dispute or implementated fully before you close the dispute.
Don't fall for Chinese people mischief.

Sellers don’t usually have a choice of shipping items, it handled by AliExpress unless you have someone in China or Hong Kong the seller can ship to, there’s pretty much nothing the seller can do.

It was after I ordered I read this thread from last year January till date - there are lots of informations here to digest about NIPOST and their crazy Saga. If I had not made my order before reading here, I won’t have made the order at all.

There's no formula to this. Only AliExpress knows who will handle your package, everything else is just speculation.

That confirms my claim kind of, stuffs like this gets delivered but when it comes to phones, tablets, EarPods etc hardly gets delivered.

I wanted to ask sef, in the case items were not delivered and refund was gotten, what happens to the items that got to airport and was never delivered? Does it get sent back to the seller or what?

Such Item is either returned to seller,and get lost in transit on its way to China (meaning that it may not reach seller) or in most cases, eventually delivered to owner (cases like this are rampant).
