Okay, many thanks for the update.
But then office space? Surprised though because this is CNL and not some Nigerian companies....
Exactly, a whole CNL will come up with excuse of office space? Haba na. What an insult
Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by pneumatikos: 4:12am On Feb 11
7 months now since I interviewed for the operator position. No one seems to know what's going on with the recruitment. 😂

This is strange. I wonder if they are still moving on with this recruitment.

Well, all I'm saying is that Chevron doesn't lack space for new hires at all. I'm currently on their EGTL platform and I can tell you it can contain even 500 new hires if they want. It's not a space problem and as for the recruitment, if any Chevron staff tells you they have all the details of what's going on, they're mostly lying. Not even the core staffers can give you any reasonable information for now. The best thing is just to stay hopeful till the end
How on this planet will new hires go straight to Escravos? How many of those roles are field based? Additionally, nobody ever said that this recruitment stalled because of office spaces. Just to be clear, I said that office spaces are being arranged for the PE & ES folks who will be onboarded soon. There's no regular employee of CVX who doesn't know about the reorg. The reorg is the fundamental reason for this delay.

I think many here didn’t understand you before now, thanks for the detail explanation…

Bro, all the new hires are going offshore. You can hardly see Technical staffers based in the office. If they're not on Escravos they're on Agbami. Chevron won't hire you and keep you in the office and since most of the roles are technical roles it would be a rotating shift. This is how it's done in Chevron. You don't need to accept but I'm writing based on my experience with them as a contract staff

Very interesting submission. Look at the roles below and tell me again that all new hires will be based offshore.

• Attorney
• Commercial Coordinator
• Communication Coordinator
• Communications Representative
• Data Scientist
• Decision Analyst
• Earth Scientist
• Facilities Engineer
• Financial Analyst
• Geophysicist
• HR Generalist
• HSE Specialist
• Petroleum Engineer
• Senior Facilities Engineer
• Senior Security Information Specialist
• Senior Wells Engineer
• Software Engineer
• Wells Engineer

Well, let me correct myself. Let's say 80-90% not all

Hahaha, you are speaking out of experience as a contract staff. I have gone through your profile, and I can see that you like unnecessary arguments. The guy said, “Wait and see,” so wait! And additionally if, at the end of this recruitment, Chevron employs those who aren’t their contract staff, I believe you have the right to write to the HR department, questioning their decision and stating why you as a contract staff, stand a chance to be employed.
Best regards.
Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by mrlee2: 3:54pm On Feb 11
Even your 80%-90% is inaccurate. More than half of the roles advertised here are desk-based.

Attorney
• Commercial Coordinator
• Communication Coordinator
• Communications Representative
• Data Scientist
• Decision Analyst
• Financial Analyst
• HR Generalist
• HSE Specialist
• Senior Security Information Specialist

What will these ones be doing on a rig/site, except occasionally?

It could be that he was referring to the second batch of roles advertised in October 2024.
These are all looking like field-based roles;
Instrument technician
Operators, EGTL planning advisor and turnaround planner, Rotating Equipment specialist, Electrical specialist, etc

Really can't fault anyone on this... everyone saying what they know. The downside or lack of communication from Chevvy

Chief,
Thanks for the updates. By onboarding, does this mean they've been given offer letter (pre-onboarding)?

I pray you get to work with Chevron. All these so called desk based roles are littered everywhere offshore. We have HR specialist on the offshore. You need to understand the offshore office space in Escravos is even bigger than Topcon yard office in Warri main town. I don't know about Lagos office though. But all I'm saying is that very few core staff work permanently at the office. Even some managers do work offshore a times.

But it's all good. Let's just wait and see how everything unfolds

I'm not even about the recruitment per say. My argument was about the office space brouhaha. I honestly don't know much about the recruitment. And my contract with Chevron is a very short contract not really a fixed term contract. Like I said, I don't know much about the recruitment but my counter was about the space the other person mentioned.

Best
Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by mrlee2: 10:03pm On Feb 11
The application listed Lagos as the location, except that something changed, which may not be entirely a problem. At this point, no one knows anything. We can only keep the hope alive until we get a definite communication from official quarters. Cheers!

Yes, you're right I recall this. I really wish you all the best. The chevron package is on a different league. Even the contract workers are earning millions how much more those who are coming in as core staff

This recruitment has been deprioritized. It may be reopened later, but we have filled the space we requested opening for.
A former colleague currently at Chevron EGTL now.

Former Colleague-Core staff?
What does this even mean, so they made people sit for series of test, interviews, and so on..to now realize this? Had a gut feeling that this delay is beyond re-org. Re-org ended since Sept'25.

Yes he is a core staff. He said deprioritized, not cancelled. So hope is still alive. Let somebody not come and say I am a negative person

After all the wait and stress levels.
It is well!
Chevron, do better next time.
What would it cost to communicate an important update like this and have prospective employees move on.

Re-org did not end last year. It was clearly published on chevron website that the re-org will be ending at the end of 2026. Go check the info again on their website. Those who were invited can call the number on the invitation to get confirmation if the recruitment is still on or not. I have made that confirmation and the reply was that we will hear from them. All this different news from staff who know nothing about the recruitment is just surprising
Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Jeffery4uall: 7:53pm On Feb 12
Omo, make una calm down. Chevron will definitely either call successful candidates or send a regret mail. None of the information flying around is legit until we see an official regret mail.
Chevron knows that no matter the job you currently have, once they need you, you’ll leave and resume. So heads up—focus on other things for now. One day, it will surely click.
As for the fraud talk, there is no fraud in the recruitment process. The recruitment is directly from Chevron. As of today, only contract staff have resumed.
Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by ValeignNurt: 6:02am On Feb 13
Well, they should, but they have not, and it is close to 2 years now. So forgive our doubt.
Re: 2024 Chevron Nigeria Experienced Professional Recruitment by Alaprom(m): 12:16pm On Feb 13
I'm aware the re-org will be completed fully at the end of 2026 as per the media. 2025 which is the first phase has been completed. Btw, how recent is your update on the status of the recruitment?

Even the contract staffers that resumed were third party contract staff. Not directly from Chevron so I think people should just stay optimistic

Not clear to me what you mean by direct contract staff. As far as I know, companies outsource contract personnel roles to other entities.

My application from the dashboard still shows Application received since Oct 8 2024. Does anyone see same thing from the Chevron Operators application portal did anyone got a rejection mail? I decided to check now as I've not checked for a year now I was thinking a mail of next phase or rejection will be sent. I wrote the test sometimes April 2025

Not clear to me what you mean by direct contract staff. As far as I know, companies outsource contract personnel roles to other entities.
So Chevron has what they call "Base Contract workers or direct contract workers". They were recruited by Chevron but on Contract basis. Most of the white expatriates I met on their EGTL platform fall under this category. They earn so well too. Some of the expatriates even earn more than the some core staffers.

The third party contract workers were recruited by other companies to work for Chevron. Most of the Technicians and other craftsmen fall under this category.

Generally, contract workers are called the "Green badge and are given a green key card badge" and the core staff called the "Blue badge and are given the blue key card badge". This is how you differentiate who is a contract worker from a core staffer
