When you Nigerians pay a cost reflective tarrifs , power supply will improve.

It's because you pay a cost reflective tarrif in the gsm sector and because you don't have the equivalent of bypassing your meter in the gsm sector that you have enough internet and telephone service .At least much better than 30 years ago
It's all lies , when U all pay like U said that's when another story will generate that the bull crap they distribute won't be enough for everyone,
Leave Ur story

Worst minister of power...
Since the beginning of this year, we've never had it this terrible for a long time...

THIS POWER ISSUE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR 70% OF ALL THE PROBLEMS THIS COUNTRY HAS, BELIEVE IT OR NOT.
He doesn't know what he is doing , he just want to be minister by force with no idea of what he his doing as his boss want to be president and knows nothing about presidency

Since October power supply has been at the worst state I have ever experienced as a Nigerian. It is horrible! How did we get here? Buhari looks like a saint already. No one had the slightest clue that any leader could go lower than Buhari! It's happening right before our eyes. cry

May the soul of saint Buhari rest in peace. embarassed

Even before this shit there has not been consistent electricity supply even with the banding thing with the minister of power always talking trash as usual. Many have been running alternate power source for reliable light supply.
Make dem dey whine demselves grin grin
Funny enough electric workers dey gear up for strike according to news reports

I tell you.
I invested in Solar last year
It cost me a whooping 10M for the capacity I went for.
I now enjoy 24 hrs power.
This is no doubt the best decision I have made in a long time.

My wife prays for me everyday.
I an glad I took this decision.

Glory be to God.

So if you were selling bread that cost you 2000 per loaf to bake, a good price for you to sell it at would be 500 naira per loaf, meaning you lose 1500 per loaf.

That's the implication of your comment

Sell at a profit, make enoigh profits to keep things running well.

Being abusive doesn't change that fact

There's nothing abusive about what I have posted , do U work with NEPA? Cos I wasn't referring to U,
And lastly if the whole of Lagos state is paying 3k each per month they will still make billions in one month,
Do Ur calculations, a street of 100 building and 5-10 tenants multiply by 4k per month , a local government are might have more than 400 thousand houses,
Do Ur calculations and tell me if NEPA ain't making money

No, the cold reason is that it is government policy and the policy of the masses to not pay a cost reflective tarrif for power

To produce a kwh of power costs 230 naira . Or more. Most Nigerians don't pay that.

Add the fact that most Nigerians do not pay at all which leads to discos running at a loss and rejecting power from gencos for the simple fact that they can't pay the gencos.

And then there is corruption, part of it via rip off schemes like estimated billing which is done to keep the discos afloat.

And your government is running away from the problem
The fact that most Nigerians don't pay for electricity is not an excuse for the incompetence of the minister of power..

You calmed Nigerians don't pay for electricity yet the power sector keeps recording massive increase in revenue.....

Nigeria keeps frustrating new investors. I know this because an American company wanted to come in some years ago and they ran away.

Our levels of corruption are mind-boggling. Contracts that should have at least 20% indigenous ownership, will be made to be crony capitalism, squeezed until youe unsure of profits and constant threats upon your head if you don't comply; and how you'll be worried your investment will go to waste.
They will say don't blame government

Yes I was expecting this comment.

In return, I'll have you know that discos need about 10-15 trillion naira in funding yearly to fix the power problem. One trillion does not cut it.

Add the fact that 68% of metered customers bypass the meters and 40% overall don't pay..and that trillion looks like small change

Power minister is incompetent for maintaining price controls on the sector. As ordered by his master.
