2027: Abia State Govt Will Teach Tinubu A Bitter Lesson Over Nnamdi Kanu’s Detention — Deputy Governor Emetu

The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Ikechukwu Emetu, has launched a strong political attack on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his wife, Senator Remi Tinubu, and their son, Seyi Tinubu, over the continued detention of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

According ThisNigerian, Emetu said the Abia State Government would mobilise its political structure and resources to deliver what he described as a “bitter political lesson” to the Tinubu family in the 2027 general elections. He accused the President of being responsible for the conviction and incarceration of Kanu, who hails from Abia State.

The Deputy Governor, who also serves as Chairman of the Labour Party’s National Steering Committee on Membership Revalidation and e-Registration, stated that there would be no reconsideration of the state’s political position ahead of 2027, even if President Tinubu were to align with the Labour Party.

“Seyi Tinubu is my age mate. Trust me, the government of Abia State shall teach his father a bitter political lesson in 2027 for jailing my brother, Nnamdi Kanu. We have not forgotten. We would never forget what he did to us,” ThisNigerian, quoted Emetu.

He further asserted that President Tinubu has no visible legacy or project in Abia State, maintaining that the state’s leadership would work toward what he described as retiring the President politically in the next electoral cycle.

“Tinubu has no legacy in Abia State. He has no project here. Therefore, my boss and I shall retire him to return back to Lagos. Labour Party is our name,”ThisNigerian reported.

The Deputy Governor further insisted that the people of Abia State remain resolute and united in their political stance ahead of the next general elections. He maintained that the state would not be swayed by alliances or last-minute political realignments, stressing that the perceived injustice against Kanu continues to resonate deeply among many residents. According to him, 2027 would provide an opportunity for Abia voters to make what he described as a decisive statement at the ballot box.

Emetu also reiterated that the Labour Party structure in the state remains intact and mobilized, adding that membership revalidation and e-registration efforts were ongoing to strengthen grassroots participation. He emphasized that the political direction of the state would be determined by what he called the collective will of the people, noting that Abia’s leadership was focused on consolidating its base while preparing strategically for the forthcoming electoral contest.

We have been saying it and we will continue to say it, we are not expecting votes from South East.

Immediately after the 2023 election, we started pampering the regions we are expecting votes from and so far so good, almost their governors have defected to our camp.

Winning election is not by noise, just be strategic

They no longer do. Without Southern support, Tinubu is toast and he knows it. Can't you feel the desperation? Expect many more cash to be splurged on the likes of Obi Cubana and Co.

Did the lesson you "taught" Tinubu in 2023 prevent him becoming President?

Yet you are dreaming your bigoted votes in 2027 can deny him a second term considering he is running as a powerful incumbent who has consolidated power well?

Try and reason less emotionally sometime. That might enable you to see and accept reality.

Their vote is inconsequential. We proved it to them in 2015, 2019 and 2023. Despite the massive rigging they did in 2023, it amounted to another failure

The reality is that anyone can with the presidency without a single vote from the entire SE region.
2019 and 2023 elections did establish that.
In other words, their votes are inconsequential.
