The cost of construction at a point was detailed by Umahi as 14. 1 million and Oshiomole wanted to know if it was a highway or footpath. Oshiomole further asked him to focus on fixing existing roads and making them longer lasting, rather than building brand new roads, appropriating trillions of naira on new roads that will go on endlessly, just like his “legacy” Lagos-Calabar coastal roads. It showed that leaders like Oshiomole who did not agree on the construction of those kinds of roads.

Until youths like you begin to question the leaders of this country and demand accountability, they will continue to keep you all in bondage.

You clearly understood what transpired. Added to that is the unmistakable fact of the clear loopholes for corrupt practices in that budget. Oshiomole exposed the loopholes in the budget. While Umahi thought and he would have an easy ride as a party man, Oshiomole brought him straight back down to the earth!

I didn't excuse Umahi from being accountable for his dealings as minister of works. What I meant was that Oshiomhole whom we all know with his thuggish braggadocio met his match in Umahi who also exhibit same attitude.
