Without Leaving My House, Passport Was Produced In Two Days And Delivered by Melezenawii(op): 4:28pm On Feb 13
I have been screaming “Omo!!” in disbelief!

Nigeria has left me in total shock!

WITHOUT LEAVING MY HOUSE, PASSPORT WAS PRODUCED IN TWO DAYS AND DELIVERED TO MY DOOR! 😱

Here’s the gist. I randomly realized that the Nigerian passport of someone VERY CLOSE to me was expiring in a few months time and we needed to get it renewed ASAP. So I took on the responsibility to get it done.

I started contacting a few folks to see if they had any “connect” at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington DC or the Consulate in Atlanta, GA, because I’ve always dreaded the thoughts of renewing a Nigerian passport due to many gory stories I’ve heard about the process.🥶

Anyways, I got a few advice on what to do/some connects as well. But what stood out to me? A couple of folks said they renewed their passports without leaving their houses and got it done and sent to them in 1-3 months. Ehn!! Of course I’ve read some good stories online but as with our dear Nigeria - “seeing is believing.”😏

After much agitation, fear and doubt, we decided to use the contactless renewal system.

We filled the application online, took the biometrics with our phone, uploaded a passport photograph and boom!

Payment time! I was like “God Abeg o - I no get time to go fight with anybody for that office o” 😣🤣

We paid $230 for booklet fee and $100 for contactless fee (PS: there’s a $50 money order to be paid too). We sent the old passport to the Nigerian Consulate in Atlanta, Georgia and USPS showed that it arrived there 3 days later.

After some days, I went to check the tracking number, it was still processing but no sign of the new booklet being shipped to me yet.

Yesterday! I checked the application online portal, to my surprise, it was on the last step. I saw:

“✅ Passport Produced, Ready for Collection” and last step

“✅Passport Issued/Collected”…

I didn’t believe it and I told myself it must be an error because that was way too quick 😂

was like ahh! Let me check the USPS Mail Tracking code first … Lo and behold! It showed that the Passport will be delivered to my house that same day by evening.

I first shouted “What!!” “How”! I was in disbelief because it was too fast and too hassle-free to be true! Something that you’d need to pay bri^e and wait almost for eternity to get? And now, it’s showing I will get it so quickly without leaving my house or paying anyone?

Wait for the biggest shocker! Being curious, I checked the tracking history, and I saw that the passport was produced in only 2 DAYS after my shipped file of money order and old passport arrived the Atlanta Consulate and on the third day it was given to USPS to send to my house. And USPS delivered the old and new passports to my house safely, as seen in the photo.
So, I know we’re quick to criticize Government but this is me giving you your flowers, Honourable minister,
@BTOofficial
and the
@nigimmigration
.

I hope that other public services will be as efficient as this and that bad eggs won’t spoil this good work.

I had same experience too in the UK...£20 money order.I got mine within 5 days.I think renewal is far easier than processing for a first timer.

£20 in total?

It's rather unfortunate I can't renew because my old one says I was born in Ifon Osun while my other passport says elsewhere. It was gotten for me in Ibadan for ₦25k in 2006, showing no documents and only passport photos.

It wasn't a problem for years until it was clocked at Murtala last time I left. I was fortunate the clocker had sympathy on my dying state, but it's a risk not to take anymore.

I think what you need to do first is to make sure the details on your NIN is the same as your details on the international passport.

£20 was for money order.Paid for 10 years renewal.

Royal Mail C4 special delivery self-addressed envelope for return delivery
The old passport (if applicable)
Payment of the £20 administrative fee, made via postal order payable to the Nigeria High Commission, London (Applicants should write their name and telephone number at the back of the postal order.)
Application forms and payment receipt
All required documents should be sent to: Nigeria High Commission, 9 Northumberland Avenue, London WC2N 5BX.

The administration of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) has really brought relief in many sectors. From immigration service to stock market and down to energy, the administration has done exceptionally well.

I am a strong believer of the administration. With same velocity, a greater Nigeria is guaranteed!

Share your own story, how many days did processing your passport took?

Or wait, Sorry you have never had an international passport in your life, born and breed in Alaba market.

By the time more and more positive news begins to show like this, more and more people will begin to notice. So when evil people now start drawing attention to only negatives, you will start experiencing more people shouting them down to keep quiet.

This is beyond politics; it is just the truth.

While someone I know just renewed his for roughly 300 pounds.

So at this rate, the price is over the moon.

They love to deceive those outside the country.

Have you taken time to check the stories of those in Nigeria on how passport renewal takes months?

They know they can be sued overthere, so they try everything possible not to be in such situation.

But in Nigeria? If you're not ready to grease palms, just go and wait for 3-9 months or more.

My boss got his passport under 24hrs after he paid for express almost 300k
Re: Without Leaving My House, Passport Was Produced In Two Days And Delivered by Roger3D(m):
One thing our Japa generation of Nigerians fail to understand is that the Nigerian government actually wants you to leave. Do you know why? Because remittances from the diaspora account for over $40 billion every year thereby giving the government a very lucrative source of foreign exchange- That's the reason why they made the process so fast. They want you all out of the country by all means (most of you are jobless anyway) so you can work and send money back home to boost the economy.

You've never even applied for a passport, let alone know how long it takes, but here you are calling someone else's joy about quick processing "propaganda."

If it's propaganda, where's your own experience that proves her wrong?

Or are you just here to parrot what they told you to shout at Alaba market?

Same old response for everything, the Alaba market special.

@Op what shocked you?
Is it the price or the quality
Imagine passport going from 25k to 104k of lesser quality
Bat nor go kill us for this country

The petty things we call success.
One day, APC 30ks will celebrate the government for “not polluting the air.”

cheesy

Come do the same passport in Port Harcourt make I see you. Few criminals who work there will extort the hell out of you
They will deliberately prolong the process so they could extort you as much as they can
Re: Without Leaving My House, Passport Was Produced In Two Days And Delivered by Melagros(m): 10:27pm On Feb 13
COMRADES, well, I cannot dispute that because there's what they called express passport. Despite that, I still doubt the credibility of this news story
Re: Without Leaving My House, Passport Was Produced In Two Days And Delivered by MEGAWATCH: 10:28pm On Feb 13
They have started activating the propaganda machine because of 2027.

Do you people still remember that you are telling all these things to Nigerians who still process this passports everyday?

Please if APC and their supporters stop lying, will they die?

I'm just wondering...

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

APC lapdogs are on overdrive these days.

Apart from politicians, can those in Nigeria get their passports processed in 2 days?

APC paid propaganda, morning don come. Because of 2027 election, immigration officials have remembered that they can do their work efficiently. Who is deceiving who. Vote 🗳️ right and avoid eye service by government to win elections.

Jagaban has delivered suffering where he promised relief.

He is the worst president in history.

How much is petrol today huh

Deltafirstson:
Although the pump price of fuel was N197 when President Bola Tinubu took over on May 29, 2023, the product now sells for N617 per litre – less than two months after.

In his inaugural address, Tinubu announced that subsidy was gone, fulfilling a promise that all leading presidential candidates made during the campaign.

Nigerians have been lamenting the hardship occasioned by fuel price hike. Amid the lamentation, a video where Tinubu campaigned to slash the price of fuel went into circulation.

Checks by Daily Trust affirmed the authenticity of the video uploaded on the YouTube page of Channels Television.

At his campaign rally in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, on January 25, 2023, Tinubu spoke on a number of issues, but those of fuel scarcity and naira redesign made the headlines.

However, Tinubu who spoke in Yoruba language, also assured the crowd that though people were saying petrol price would hit N200, it would be reviewed downward under him.

“The great Nigerian youths, the great Nigerian students, the confident Nigerian youths. This is a revolution. This election is a revolution. They are plotting, but they will fail. They said fuel price will increase and reach N200 per litre. Go and relax, we will bring it down,” he had said in the 7th minute of the video.
