I have been hearing and reading about this Argungi festival as far back as early 90s. I thought it has gone into extinction cus I haven't heard about it for some years now

My PPA then was Comprehensive (Government Girls Science Secondary School Argungu). But Buhari stingy abeg

No fish picture, so what's the essence?

Very correct.

The highlight used to be the display of the largest catch.

I'm also surprised it's not shown.

The finishing competition is on the closing day of the festival. They just started the festival today

Haaaaa… Argungu, my Argungu back in the day! I had my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation right there; it was all fun and very nice.The Hausa people are extremely kind — very warm and accommodating. I can never forget Kebbi State.

Shout-out to Alhaji Kaoje’s family originally from Igboho, Oyo State but who made Yauri their hometown. As a matter of fact,Kaoje is a town in Kebbi state. This family took me in as one of their own. How can I forget the two Alhajas — the wives of Alhaji Kaoje — who treated me as if I were their own child?
The younger Alhaja is even a Shuwa Arab, but she speaks both Hausa and Yoruba impeccably. Abass,now lives in Russia,Ronke,Rashidat,the twins,Umar,etc,I love you all. It's because of these beautiful people I regard Yauri,Kebbi state as my second home.

There is nothing like Juju in the festival, I first read about the festival during Social studies in Primary 3 or 4.

But was actually opportune to experience it first hand during my service year. I was posted to GTC Primary School, inside Adam Augie College of Education Arugungu.

I wanted to redeploy but everything I read about the festival made me stay back and explore the town.

To be honest, it was worth the experience
