It absolutely makes no sense using another country's currency to settle your own trade internationally.

You're giving the US an unfair advantage over you.

The problem is highly technical. BRAZIL is directly opposite Nigeria on the Global map. Nigeria (Calabar) to Rio is just 6 hours journey. There are Cities in US that are 6 hours apart by flight. Because there is no direct flight from Lagos to Brazil it takes 20 hours to get to Brazil. Brazil and Nigeria have tremendous economic advantages that are beneficial to both countries that can reduce the pressure of dollars on Nigeria. Tinubu knows this, US ( Donald Trump) know this. A country that wants to free herself from the impact economic control by global economy must plan ahead.

The highlighted below can't work because there's something they call "standard" measurements, if all of us use different currency, how can we trade? They must be one standard everyone must use. The strongest economy in the world is USA. Therefore we have no option than to use the dollar. Instead of countries to think inward and out of the box, they are doing otherwise. The question is, "What's America doing that makes them a global power? What can I do in 10 years as country that will make me a top 10 global power?"
These are the questions countries should ask themselves.

USA has the strongest economy in the world because of the dollars. That’s why it can go to war to bring down any country or leader (eg Gadafi, Sadam Hussein and now Manduro) that attempts to bypass the dollars system.

Also, any country that gets such an advantage of having its currency as the global currency will as well be be the strongest economy in the world.

Gadafi went on a global campaign to get a continental currency for Africa.

Sadam Hussein was selling Iraqi oil without US dollar
Manduro was also selling Venezuela oil (800,000 barrels daily) to china in Yuan.

They didn't print less physical currency, they just restricted their access to global financial systems which means they cannot pay for stuff internationally. It is the same way the CBN restricted Nigerian banks from allowing naira denominated cards from being used abroad.
