What do you know that we don't?

Kindly tell us now.

Before I change strategy and find myself in the playoffs chip less and vulnerable for my enemies to mock me.
tshabalala:
Stop stressing yourselves because there will be playoffs since it h2h league.

I'm 100% confident about it.

In the absence of any human error or special settings, all H2H leagues, regardless of whether playoffs are enabled or not, have fixtures scheduled until the final Gameweek (GW38). After qualification (GW35), draws are made and the top eight teams proceed to the quarter-finals.

The above was based on my observation in the Nairaland Carling Cup last season.

Omor... I've been offline for a while now. I'm just seeing this mistake now.

My opinion is, iamoyindamola should create a mini league for playoffs in the last 3 GWS... Reason being that some of us are playing with a strategy that keeps us hovering around playoff spots (not necessarily top spot) till playoff, then unleash chips to win the competition. This strategy gives the present too manager undue advantage to go all the way and win the competition.

I can be in 8th position by GW35 and still win the competition via playoff. Can I win the competition if I am 8th in GW35 without playoff? Remember we all started this FA Cup believing it's a playoff competition.

Let's keep it the way it is biko. Playoff it is.
Why not play to be first? Does this make sense that you finished top of the league and lose the trophy to number 8 position? This game is not all about strategy, luck also plays its part..
Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2025/2026 by Calibrator: 5:28pm On Feb 15
But the person who created this season FA Cup already admitted to an oversight in adding the playoffs option that is why the fixtures run till GW38.

Fixtures always turn up blank from GW36 upwards for H2H Leagues with playoffs activated so that option is not apparently available for this season FA Cup.

I just want to know the general consensus tomorrow so I can know whether to adjust strategy or stick to current end of the season plan.

He actually has a point.

If you have been following the thread discussions, my entire strategy is set up to peak around GW36-38 which means I have been taking a lot of trade-offs (e.g, not attacking the Nairaland League top spot as much as I would have done absent the thought of being competitive in the anticipated playoffs at the end of the season).

I totally understand you.. But this season’s setup is gonna make that work again.. That’s why I suggested a poll. We all vote for how we want to move forward this season. We’ve all built our strategy around the top 8, but it’s time to pivot.

There's no special settings anywhere, I'm very sure I had opponents assigned to my team for the whole 38 GW last season that I won the Carling Cup.

We have two competitions running in 2 different format.

You don't play Nairaland League the way you play FA Cup.

Last season, I was among the top managers with the highest points yet I was fighting relegation in FA Cup.... That's the fun of the game.

Make we no play both competitions the same format o. E no go make sense.
Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2025/2026 by Bourne007(m): 7:48pm On Feb 15
Omo.. I didn't realise the scandal was this deep o lol 😭

It appears to be the same for Nairaland Carling Cup as well. I think we should allow it to run and we switch next season.

While this remains open for debate (or not), to make it even more competitive next season, why not top 4 qualifies for play offs 🤔

Bourne007 kicks against Administrator, Ayapripri calls for extraordinary vote

Following the revelation that FPL Chairman and Monkey D Luffy boss iamoyindamola embezzled funds earmarked for Playoff registration with the world governing body FIFA, the confederation has been beset with rancour and infighting.

Ibime Ayapripri Jack-Daniel, manager of Ipukulu FC has posited that the FA Cup forego Playoffs this season and the winner should be the participant with the most points after Gameweek 38. He has also called for an extraordinary vote of confidence in Iamoyindamola given the egregious nature of his incompetence. Ibime has also asked members of the board to invite Mukina2 to resume her former duties as administrator, noting that there were never any administrative issues during her decade long tenure as FPL Chairman. Some members have cast doubt as to whether Mukina2 would accept a return to the organisation but others expressed confidence she would return under the attraction of Okafors Law.

normal league don't run the same format as h2h league. Normal league rank you based on your total points. h2h ranks you based on your points earned against an opponent.. So, even without playoffs, they are currently not the same format.

If we all agree to leave this season FA Cup as it is without playoffs - - - - - Emaprince no get any chances of making top spot.

If on the other hand, we agree to create a separate playoffs league for this season - - - - - Emaprince still no get chances of making the playoffs.

Which kind FPL life Emaprince come come like this grin cheesy grin cheesy

Leave it to run as is

We can't have a situation where the league produces two champions

Just do 100 frog jumps and post the video as apology

That's 100 for FA Cup participants and another 100 for Carling Cup participants

We need the play offs.

He simply create a mini league for top 8 from GW36.

Playoffs is the normal format for FA Cup right from time. We can't change this year. Mini league h2h will correct the early mistake.
Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2025/2026 by Calibrator: 2:07pm On Feb 17
If we go down this route, does it mean that whatever happens in the remaining FA Cup fixtures from 36-38 is inconsequential and whoever ends up top there by GW38 permanently forfeit his claim to being called the Champion of the 2025/2025 FA Cup. We can't have two champions from a single league.

That is the most important part because this is a yearly competition and barring unforeseen circumstances, we are going to be playing for a long time as long as Premier league exists.
I don't want a situation whereby years down the road, someone like Emaprince will be disparaging my 2025/2026 FA Cup win either because I won outright without playoffs or I won it via playoffs from 6th position.

So fellow FA CUPers, what is it going to be?
Do we all agree to forfeit after GW35 on the main FA Cup table? cheesy

Plenty back and forth about play offs and no play offs.. Won't be surprised if we get to GW 35 and then FPL schedule the 1st to 8th play off fixtures.

We dont know for certain that there won't be play offs. According to iamoyindamola he didn't do any additional setting last season
