Nigeria is one the few useless countries in the world today where citizens go for Thanksgiving for securing a "visitors visa" to another third world country.

Nigerians are notorious for sleeping at European and American embassies in Abuja and Lagos for visa.

This country mumu no dey ever finish.

Other African countries no dey craze over japa matter like Nigerians.

Funny but that's the truth.

Recently,a female neighbor of mine came to me to advise her on how to go about cuz her boyfriend just got some cash and has done everything for both of them to Japa to Belgium.

She's an Igbo girl from Ebonyi state. While her boyfriend is an urhobo and even hails from my village.

Everything she showed and told me were so glaring to be so untrue. I warned her ,of the danger she was about to face but from the look on her face,I could feel the joy that was already written. Na so I just lock up and mind my business.. but deep down on the inside of me,I said to myself,--"This one don already make up her mind to be bush meat"

The next thing I saw,was that she had already rented her room out,to another person and had already been paid by the new tenant, cuz her rentage was still ongoing. All of these happened without the knowledge of the landlady.

Like this,as I'm typing this, this girl is stuck right here. It seemed everything was all fallacy and the travel agent scammed the both of them. House rent she don chop. angry. New tenant has even moved in ,and she's still here.

Tho I wanted to confront her to ask what later happened to her Japa plan, but my banny said I shouldn't angry.

Not that I'm mocking her,but from what she told me,they spent over 15m naira on preparing their papers alone. Omoh, wetin dey worry we Nigerians. How can someone have that kind amount of money and still be thinking of travelling abroad without being sure of what it's gonna be like over there for him/her?

Op,the truth is very obvious and even me typing this wouldn't mind going on board should a free bus of Japa be parked in front of my house.
15m would have transformed her life here in Nigeria.

If you have never stepped out of Nigeria... You would think other African nations are shit.

When I was promoted and transferred to head West Africa, I was still fooling myself that we were far ahead of them simply because we could speak polished English, and we had big names here and there.

But then...

Uninterrupted power/pipe-borne water
Stable currency/economy
Very peaceful environment
Crazy salary (I mean very crazy)
Very tight security

The best part is how these things are done without any form of fanfare. Roads will be constructed and opened without any form of commissioning.

Your light will trip off at midnight, one single call, and the guys from the electricity company will drive down and fix it.

Some African countries are developing quietly, ours is just to fill the Internet with arguments, and unnecessary noise.

Before I left, 10,000 CFA exchanged for N25,000.... If you know what you're doing... Getting a job that pays between 800k to 1.5m won't be a problem.
I was quite shocked to discover Benin Republic and Senegal both enjoyed economic growth rates of 6%.

That's not true. If you go to the mentioned, at least 80% of the Nigerians you'd find there are southerners.

Nigerians would yab and insult their own country so much on social media, then act shocked when citizens of other country also use those same yabs to get back at Nigerians.

You think those countries don't have their own issues too? But they are smarter than to wash their dirty linen in public.

What kind of jobs do you think someone can earn this amount in francophone countries. If the person understands French what skill goes well there

Namibians and Nigerians have been dragging each other on Twitter (X) for sometime now. It started when a Nigerian "innocently" asked if Namibia has airports. Namibia has been on our matter since then, cooking us with undeniable facts.

I was going to add my voice in defence of my country, but after a Namibian posted the below, I calmed down, shut up and moonwalked out of the space.
Which kain see finish be dis? This one really enter. This is just the height of it 🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️
I am glad you added an apostrophe in innocently. Too many netizen Nigerians are arrogant, ignorant and as citizens, we are too poor to have such loud opinions. They are ignorant because Namibians would have the backing of South Africans, but Nigerians, being divisive in nature (an Igbo person asked that ignorant question) will not be able to defend themselves. The same division showed itself when Ronu activists told South Africans that Igbos are the major perpetrators of atrocities in their country. The South Africans took note, but grouped everyone as the same.

Our people never learn, and it is annoying that we have too many ignorant and arrogant Igbo netizens who don't read the room, especially in this Agbado administration.

You have 0 excuse.

There are over 20 registered political parties in Nigeria.

In the 2023 election, there were over 90 million registered voters, but only 20+ million people voted.

If the 70+ million non-voters like you had voted for the alternatives other than the 3 major candidates, those candidates would've won the election, and you would’ve made a big statement to the major political parties.

But you sit down inside your house on election day and be talking about how the country will never move forward.
