Unless you have a terrible brain circuit. Can you compare his government with what we have now? The standard of living in Nigeria during GEJ’s tenure was superb. Did you see anyone from his region going around begging for 2 cups of rice?

The west is currently at par with poverty levels like the north. Begging is rife, poverty is at astronomical levels. Yes, you earn a living to support bad policies, you kids, family and friends will suffer it.

Tinubu is afraid of every opposition. Even Seyi Makinde and Adeleke in his own Southwest region. That's why he's withholding local government funds and now begging for a "political solution" in order to release it.

Reason: Nigeria was on freefall - auto piloting - when the leader abdicates his responsibilities to exert authority and control mechanism.

GEJ simply wæhed his hands clean of governance thus giving free rein to everybody to do as he/she wills.
That was why it was the period of the highest level of brazen corruption by govt officials and an unprecedentent level of oil bunkering. Oil bunkering suddenly became an easy and assured source of income for hundreds of thousands of Nigerians across the strata of levels.
The minister of petroleum resources, Allison Diezani-Maduekwe, said a whopping 400,000 barrels of crude went by way of theft each day. She should know.
So there was much money in circulation.
For years, I hardly patronised petrol stations. I took delivery of 150 litres of petrol each week to run my generators. So with many others. We no longer missed NEPA !
I used to travel to Bénin Rep each month for 3 days rest.
My journey from Lagos to Zavalou north of that country back to Lagos, with all the goings round would not cost me more than #10,000 because I would load up 3 cans of 50 litres each and refill as and when necessary.
But under normal circustances, such a trip would cost me close to 100k or thereabouts if I had to patronised filling stations along the journey.

But you don't run a country like that because it eventually leads to recession and everybody suffers.
A situation where the level of corruption was so high the outcry went global and govt mouthpieces ran out of ideas to defend because it could no longer be defended.
Yet, at every festive season, the general public suffer for the same commodity queueing up for days at petrol stations.
Did you hear that at some point officials bade their time for when the president was drunk to get sensitive documents signed ?

GEJ was a lovable person but unfortunately, not cut out for prudent leadership.

As for Boko Harm, GEJ should have stood his ground and allowed Ihejirika finish the job but he burkled.
He also had the opportunity to conduct the most accurate census for Nigeria but again, he chickened out under pressure all in the name of a 2nd term which he eventually didn't lose inspite of the corruption but gave out to Buhari out of fright.

I love and prefer the current govt's reforms which I consider the best thing to ever happen in this country. Running a govt with purpose, focused vision and stated mission. First of it's kind in Nigeria
I hated this govt in 2023 but it has won my heart by the bold decisions the president has taken so far.

The highest point for this govt for me is the readiness to take the bull by the horn to restructure it in response to the yearnings of majority of the citizens.
Only a president with balls could do that.
I am sure that by the time he completes his 2bd term, which is ordained and assured, he would come across as a hero to many both friends and foes

Someone that met GDP at 280 billion dollars and grew it to 540 billion in 4 years ?

Someone that took Nigeria into 5 most promising economies

Someone that built the most power plants in Nigerian history?

Attracted the most FDI in our history?

I mean ordinary Nigerians were buying brand new cars under Jonathan?

If not for APC and Barrack Obama that started sponsoring terrorist against the govt it could have gone on to be the best govt Nigerians have ever seen
