Hello house, I am having issues with booking Lagos appointment for my mom on VFS website. Its requesting I should complete the DOB but doesn't accept when I tried to insert it before i can submit. What could be the problem?

Ashirioluwa:
Because your parents have been issued a Canadian visitor visa within the last 10 years makes them eligible for the CAN+ program, which provides expedited processing.

Their applications are typically sent to a faster stream because they have already been vetted.

Your sister benefits from this faster processing timeline as well, since she applied with them.
You're wise.

This clarification is very much necessary, so People don't think it applies to first timers.

There's a 'privilege' his family enjoyed for the speedy response

Click on “choose file” to upload the biometric instruction letter sent by IRCC. This will automatically populate the DOB and IRCC No details.

Mee346:
No, Canada does not require a formal travel itinerary or cover/introduction letter in the same rigid way the Schengen visa does, but a well-written cover letter is strongly recommended for a Canadian Visitor (Tourist) Visa.

What Canada officially requires

For a Canadian visitor visa, IRCC focuses more on:

Purpose of travel

Ties to your home country

Proof of funds

Travel history

Intention to return.
I can help you with a well detailed cover letter template. You just have to paste your details and necessary infos required
Hello Boss, is cover letter same as LOE, and if same can you please help in what should be contain in 1? Thanks
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Codeblues(m): 5:44pm On Feb 09
Thank you. This was really helpful. Initially before coming here I tried several times to upload but it was not uploading it. This is because I changed the generic name of the biometrics letter when i was saving it. Immediately I saw your response I downloaded and saved biometrics letter without changing the generic name and problem solved. Thanks 👍🏻

Is there any additional fee to be paid at VFS Lagos, when doing biometrics single applicant for visit visa? If any, what's the estimate amount and if payment is by cash or debit card? Thanks!

From my end nothing for now. I submitted with my wife January 1st 2026 and did biometrics on the 5th of January. I have UK and USA valid visas, my wife has only Uk visa. The surprising thing is that someone else that did biometrics on thesame day with us already got refusal form IRCC on the last week of January. Fingers crossed for now

Refusal comes quicker than approval

My hubby’s own is more than 3 months now. Visit visa takes time sometimes. Forget the processing times you see on their portal.

Good day,
I want to apply for visitors visa for my husband and I. We are living in Nigeria but we want to go to Canada for our 6 month or 1 year anniversary doubled as our honeymoon celebration. Our reason for travel is for honeymoon. We are both working in Nigeria. My husband doesn’t have travel history but I have UK travel history. A lot of the agents we have consulted says that it is impossible for us to apply for visitors visa because my husband doesn’t have travel history. My questions are as follows:
- Can we still apply?
- Do we need an agent?
- What are the requirements for application?

I will advice you go to Oman or Greece, if you genuinely want to travel for anniversary.

Canada is not a tourist destination, there's absolutely nothing to see or enjoy in Canada

I do not think there's any place on earth without one attraction or the other. What do you mean there's nothing to see? What of Niagara falls close to Toronto? A very popular tourist destination which can be combined with boat cruise. There's Ripley Aquarium also in Toronto, the harbour area is a common place where tourists just stroll around. Even just going around the city and taking in the sights and sounds is tourism.

Since your marriage is young, why not try other countries first, use it to build your travel history.
If you guys have high consistent income, you can try UK again but with your husband. You can even combine with a short trip to France. After getting the UK, apply for France and do maybe a 2-day detour. You can get cheap accomodation and cheap flights.

The following year, then apply for Canada. That way, your travel history would have enhanced your profile to some extent, reducing the risk of being seen as a potential jaapa.

My application was refused based on these:" the documentation provided by the applicant on their current employment activities or to prove ownership of declared businesses is limited. I am not satisfied that the applicant will depart Canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay."
