There have been several rumours flying around concerning FIFA's verdict on the petition filed by the Nigeria Football Federation against the Democratic Republic of Congo, for fielding ineligible players in their 2026 World Cup qualifying play-off match. Even though there hasn't been any official statement from FIFA, some quarters are saying the football governing body has ruled in favour of the DRC, while some are also saying FIFA ruled in favour of Nigeria and have awarded the Super Eagles a spot in the Inter-confederation play-offs. What exactly is the true situation report? Didn't FIFA meet on 16th of February as earlier announced? What was the outcome of their meeting?
